The winning look will be selected during Judging Day on <span class=\"xn-chron\">April 20<\/span>, and presented at <i>The Future of Fashion<\/i> show on <span class=\"xn-chron\">Thursday, May 5<\/span>, at <span class=\"xn-chron\">7:00 p.m.<\/span> at FIT&#8217;s John E. Reeves Great Hall. Nearly\u00a080 designers selected from a class of\u00a0168 students. The collection of designs displayed on Judging Day included five specializations offered at FIT in women&#8217;s knitwear, sportswear, intimate apparel, special occasion and children&#8217;s wear. Additionally, the professionally produced show also featured a capsule exhibition by graduating Fashion Design students who spent their final year at the college&#8217;s <span class=\"xn-location\">Milan<\/span> campus at the Politecnico di <span class=\"xn-location\">Milano<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Torres, the media and fashion industry professionals serving as judges for this year&#8217;s runway are <b><span class=\"xn-person\">Ken Downing<\/span><\/b>, (<span class=\"xn-person\">Neiman Marcus<\/span>), <b><span class=\"xn-person\">Nicole Phelps<\/span><\/b> (Vogue Runway), <b><span class=\"xn-person\">David Thielebeule<\/span><\/b> (WSJ Magazine), <b><span class=\"xn-person\">Lilliana Vazquez<\/span><\/b> (Today Show) and <b><span class=\"xn-person\">Annie Georgia Greenberg<\/span><\/b> (Refinery 29).<\/p>\n<p>Each year top industry designers and fashion houses mentor the students as they create their own final collections. This year includes <b><span class=\"xn-person\">Dennis Basso<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-person\">Stacey Bendet<\/span><\/b> of Alice + Olivia, and <b><span class=\"xn-person\">Dushane Noble<\/span><\/b> of <span class=\"xn-person\">Narciso Rodriguez<\/span>. Plus, <b><span class=\"xn-person\">Gabriel Asfour<\/span><\/b> of Threeasfour, will serve as mentor in the new wearable technology space. Every participant will also choose one outstanding garment in his or her category to receive a special Critics Award.<\/p>\n<p><i>The Future of Fashion <\/i>show is supported by generous donations from the Calvin Klein Foundation, as well as <span class=\"xn-person\">Calvin Klein<\/span>, Inc., MAC, Chico&#8217;s FAS and <i>Siempre Mujer<\/i> magazine. <\/p>\n<p>MAC and its team of makeup artists will return to offer makeup artistry and creative services for the show.
