Rosengren<\/span>, MHA, FACHE, Chairman and Executive Chairman of Heritage.\u00a0&#8220;Because adaptive sports are another venue of superior veteran care, the choice to participate was a natural one.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>The conference will be held <span class=\"xn-chron\">June 17-19<\/span> at <span class=\"xn-location\">Flower Mound&#8217;s<\/span> Cross Timbers YMCA and kicks off Friday with a free basketball clinic for boys and girls. The clinic will introduce them to the rules and fundamentals of wheelchair basketball.\u00a0 Additionally, as a new feature this year, the Flower Mound First Responders will compete against Wounded Warriors that evening.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, tournaments will begin at TWU&#8217;s Pioneer Hall in <span class=\"xn-location\">Denton<\/span> and run <span class=\"xn-chron\">8 a.m. until 5 p.m.<\/span> This event will feature co-ed wounded warrior basketball teams and showcase <span class=\"xn-location\">Southwest Texas&#8217;<\/span> finest military wheelchair basketball teams. Winners of the Saturday games will compete for the championship on Sunday morning with an award ceremony at noon.<\/p>\n<p>Now in its third year, the SMWBC builds teamwork, competition, fitness, and fun among military veterans from all branches of the service. The SMWBC also provides the opportunity for veterans to have fun and build camaraderie. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This conference is a highly anticipated event each year,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">Kent Robinson<\/span>, SFC, US Army (Ret) founder of the SMWBC. &#8220;It shows veterans that, just because you have a disability, you don&#8217;t have to be disabled; it doesn&#8217;t mean you have to sit around on the couch.
