The <i>Texas Homebuyers and Sellers Report<\/i> showed that 30 percent of homebuyers in <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> were first time homebuyers and that single women were twice as likely to purchase a home than single men.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <i>Texas International Homebuyers Report, <\/i><span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> real estate is increasingly in demand among international homebuyers from <span class=\"xn-location\">Asia<\/span>. International homebuyers from <span class=\"xn-location\">India<\/span> purchased more homes in <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> than any other state, with one in five homes purchased by Indian homebuyers in <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span>. <\/p>\n<p>Condominiums, new homes, luxury homes and small land parcels also saw higher demand. The <i>Texas Condominium Mid-Year Sales Report<\/i> showed condominium sales experienced double-digit growth in most of <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas&#8217;<\/span> major metropolitan areas in the first half of 2016. <\/p>\n<p>Small land sales were the highest-performing segment of <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> real estate, with small land sales volume increasing nearly 19 percent year over year. According to the Real Estate Center at <span class=\"xn-org\">Texas A&amp;M University<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> families are increasingly viewing small land purchases as a wise investment strategy as well as making land purchases for a second home, recreational property or agricultural operation.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"xn-location\">New-home<\/span> sales activity continued at a strong pace in 2016. The <i>Texas Homebuyers and Sellers Report<\/i> showed that 30 percent of <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> homes purchased in a 12-month period were new homes, while the <i>Texas Luxury Home Sales Report<\/i> showed that sales of homes priced <span class=\"xn-money\">$1 million<\/span> and higher continued to rise throughout the state.<\/p>\n<p>The 2016 editions of the <i>Texas Quarterly Housing Report<\/i> indicated that the total number of <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> home sales is on track for another record year in 2016. <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> home sales posted modest, but steady gains throughout the year, while statewide housing inventory continued to remain low.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman Smith concluded, &#8220;The continued growth of the <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> housing market this year despite a slowing <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> economy has been remarkable.
