{"id":55439,"date":"2017-07-18T16:15:00","date_gmt":"2017-07-18T20:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hispanicprwire.com\/english-the-humana-foundation-announced-a-grant-of-100000-for-hispanic-unity-of-florida\/"},"modified":"2017-07-18T16:18:02","modified_gmt":"2017-07-18T20:18:02","slug":"english-the-humana-foundation-announced-a-grant-of-100000-for-hispanic-unity-of-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hispanicprwire.com\/en\/english-the-humana-foundation-announced-a-grant-of-100000-for-hispanic-unity-of-florida\/","title":{"rendered":"The Humana Foundation announced a grant of $100,000 for Hispanic Unity of Florida"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <\/p>\n<div class=\"xn-content\">\n<p><span class=\"xn-location\">WESTON, Florida<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-chron\">July 18, 2017<\/span> \/PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE\/ &#8212;<b>\u00a0<\/b><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/saludaldiamagazine.net\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">SALUD al dia magazine<\/a> was present at a press conference to announce a <span class=\"xn-money\">$100,000<\/span> grant to Hispanic Unity of <span class=\"xn-location\">Florida<\/span>, HUF.<\/p>\n<p>The funds will be used to expand the &#8220;Te Ayudo&#8221; program, which aims to reduce healthcare disparities and increase healthcare access for uninsured and underinsured individuals and families,\u00a0particularly Hispanic and other minority populations.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2016, we&#8217;ve been able to help hundreds of clients in <span class=\"xn-location\">Broward<\/span> gain access to critical health services.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are thankful to be able to expand our resources to <span class=\"xn-location\">Broward County<\/span> residents with the help of this generous grant from the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/saludaldiamagazine.net\/humana-le-puede-ayudar\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Humana<\/a>\u00a0Foundation,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">Josie Bacallao<\/span>, President and CEO of Hispanic Unity of <span class=\"xn-location\">Florida<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><b><b>Humana Impact Report &gt;&gt; Te Ayudo Program at HUF<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>During the Open Enrollment Period (<span class=\"xn-chron\">Nov 2016<\/span> &#8211; <span class=\"xn-chron\">Jan 2017<\/span>) HUF assisted 482 families\/households.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>This resulted in 941 family members receiving education about the Affordable Care Act.\n<\/li>\n<li>HUF assisted 760 uninsured or under-insured individuals apply for a Qualified Health Plan (QHP) through the Health Insurance Marketplace.\n<\/li>\n<li>382 individuals purchased a QHP through the Health Insurance Marketplace.\n<\/li>\n<li>The average monthly premium was <span class=\"xn-money\">$69.11<\/span>.\n<\/li>\n<li>Out of the 382 individuals who purchased health insurance, 207 individuals or 54% have to pay less than <span class=\"xn-money\">$50.00<\/span> in monthly premiums.\n<\/li>\n<li>The average deductible was <span class=\"xn-money\">$1,095.82<\/span>\n<\/li>\n<li>The average out-of-pocket maximum was <span class=\"xn-money\">$1,801.76<\/span>\n<\/li>\n<li>196 individuals established a medical home for primary and preventive healthcare services by selecting and visiting a Primary Care Physician (PCP).
