Public award categories include:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><b>Digital Champion: <\/b>An organization, program or individual that is creatively using a website, social media platform, video or other digital medium in unexpected or compelling ways to effectively prevent or address domestic violence and\/or dating abuse.\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Leader in Prevention:<\/b> An organization, program or individual that is doing stand-out work in preventing domestic violence and\/or dating abuse by actively working to prevent domestic violence and\/or dating abuse before it happens, as well as promoting healthy relationship behaviors.\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Media Visionary:<\/b> A member of online or traditional media who is using their platform to raise awareness about domestic violence and\/or dating abuse. The nominee may or may not work directly with a domestic violence program or organization; however, s\/he will consistently leverage their role in the media to draw attention to domestic violence and\/or dating abuse.\n<\/li>\n<li><b>People&#8217;s Choice: Voice of the Year:<\/b> An individual who is truly inspirational and has moved their audience to stand up against domestic violence and\/or dating abuse, sometimes for the first time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, the Mary Kay Ash Heart of Courage Awards Steering Committee, which is comprised of leaders from the National Domestic Violence Hotline, Break the Cycle, Futures Without Violence, the National Network to End Domestic Violence, the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence, the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, will vote on the <i>Trailblazer Award<\/i>, which will honor a leader who is blazing a trail to prevent or end domestic violence and\/or dating abuse. <\/p>\n<p>Nominations will be accepted through <span class=\"xn-chron\">11:59 p.m.<\/span> local time on <span class=\"xn-chron\">Friday, Aug. 11<\/span>.
