US cities are: <span class=\"xn-location\">Austin, Texas<\/span>; <span class=\"xn-location\">Burlington, Vt<\/span>., <span class=\"xn-location\">Chicago<\/span>; <span class=\"xn-location\">Los Angeles<\/span>; <span class=\"xn-location\">Minneapolis<\/span>; <span class=\"xn-location\">New York<\/span>; and <span class=\"xn-location\">Washington, D.C.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Photo &#8211; <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/mma.prnewswire.com\/media\/543930\/oca_ben_jerrys_protest_Image_PRNewswire.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow\">http:\/\/mma.prnewswire.com\/media\/543930\/oca_ben_jerrys_protest_Image_PRNewswire.jpg<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Protests will take place at noon local time, except <span class=\"xn-location\">Los Angeles<\/span> (<span class=\"xn-chron\">4 p.m. PT<\/span>)<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ben &amp; Jerry&#8217;s built its brand on claims that its products are &#8220;natural&#8221; and &#8220;GMO-Free,&#8221; and that the company is committed to &#8220;social responsibility,&#8221; which includes concern about environmental issues, global warming, fair labor, animal welfare, and economic success for all partners, including dairy farmers,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">Ronnie Cummins<\/span>, OCA&#8217;s international director. &#8220;Serving up ice cream made with milk from cows raised on GMO animal feed and contaminated with Monsanto&#8217;s Roundup weedkiller violates those promises.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ben &amp; Jerry&#8217;s contributes to the massive pollution of <span class=\"xn-location\">Vermont<\/span> and US waterways by supporting industrial dairy which relies on GMO crops for animal feed. By sourcing organic milk, the company could clean up <span class=\"xn-location\">Vermont&#8217;s<\/span> water and support organic dairy farmers who currently are forced to sell their milk at conventional prices because they lack markets,&#8221; Cummins said.<\/p>\n<p>On <span class=\"xn-chron\">July 25, 2017<\/span>, The <span class=\"xn-org\">New York Times<\/span> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/07\/25\/dining\/ben-and-jerrys-ice-cream-herbicide-glyphosate.html?_r=3\" rel=\"nofollow\">reported<\/a> on tests of Ben &amp; Jerry&#8217;s ice cream conducted by the OCA.
