These events included a Mexican Folkloric Ballet, film seminars and plenty of theatrical performances, all with the end goal of spreading and promoting Mexican culture in <span class=\"xn-location\">the United States<\/span>. However, the big guns have been saved for the final months of 2017, particularly during the <span class=\"xn-location\">Guadalajara<\/span> International Film Festival in <span class=\"xn-location\">Los Angeles<\/span> (<b>FICG in LA<\/b>) which will take place from <span class=\"xn-chron\">November 2-5<\/span>. <\/p>\n<p>On <span class=\"xn-chron\">November 4th<\/span> a seminar aimed at film students, industry insiders, and fans of the cinematic arts alike will be offered, titled <i>VR the Future of Cinematography.<\/i> The seminar will be led by <span class=\"xn-person\">Michael Mansouri<\/span>, the co-founder of Radiant Images, who has become one of the most informed figures in the VR industry in relation to the topic, as well as someone who has experience with both augmented reality and stereoscopic 3D. A member of the American Society of Cinematographers, Mansouri received the Mario award in 2013 for his contribution to technical advancements in the industry and in 2016 he was included in Studio Daily&#8217;s inaugural list of the most influential technicians and creatives in film.\u00a0 He has also worked as a digital technician on <i>Iron Man 2<\/i>, <i>G.I. Joe the Rise of the Cobra<\/i> and <i>127 Hours<\/i>. The seminar will be conducted from <span class=\"xn-chron\">10am to 4pm<\/span> at Radiant Images headquarters, 2702 Media Center Dr, <span class=\"xn-location\">Los Angeles, CA<\/span> 90065 and will cost <span class=\"xn-money\">$150<\/span> per person. The class will be helmed by renowned novelist and Academy Award nominated screenwriter <span class=\"xn-person\">Guillermo Arriaga<\/span>, where the author of <i>Night Buffalo<\/i>, <i>A Sweet Scent of Death<\/i> and <i>Guillotine Squad<\/i> will deconstruct his theory on how the number one rule for writing a screenplay is understanding the lack of rules. Aimed towards industry professionals, film students and amateurs looking to develop their stories, those in attendance will learn about non-linear construction, character development, the dramatic goal and the keys to creating narrative. Arriaga is the writer behind Academy Award nominated films such as <i>Amores perros<\/i>, <i>21 Grams<\/i>, and <i>Babel, <\/i>for which he received an Oscar, Golden Globe, and BAFTA nomination, as well as <i>The Three Burials of <span class=\"xn-person\">Melquiades Estrada<\/span><\/i>, which won the Best Screenplay at the <span class=\"xn-location\">Cannes<\/span> Film Festival. He also wrote and directed <i>The Burning Plain<\/i>, starring <span class=\"xn-person\">Charlize Theron<\/span>. The Venezuelan production <i>From Afar<\/i>, which won the Golden Lion for Best Picture 2 years ago at the <span class=\"xn-location\">Venice<\/span> Film Festival, was based on a story Arriaga created with the film&#8217;s director, <span class=\"xn-person\">Lorenzo Vigas<\/span>.\u00a0 The master class will be held in English at LATC, 514 South Spring Street, <span class=\"xn-location\">Los Angeles, CA<\/span> 90013, and will be priced at <span class=\"xn-money\">$200<\/span> per person. Written by Fernando Javier Le\u00f3n Rodr\u00edguez, co-writer behind the brilliant <i>Herod&#8217;s Law<\/i>, as well as <i>The Last Train<\/i>, <i>On Childhood<\/i> y <i>The Attemp Dossier<\/i>, the lecture proposes a bold idea. On stage, the actor literally becomes Gabriel Garc\u00eda M\u00e1rquez&#8217;s legendary novel <i>One Hundred Years of Solitude<\/i>, sharing the adventures it&#8217;s gone through since its first couple of lines, its feelings on being read, as well as its relationship with the author. The lecture in Spanish will be presented in the Mark Taper Auditorium within the Los Angeles Central Library.
