The top reasons include: <\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><b>They would be concerned they were overreacting<\/b> (37%)\n<\/li>\n<li><b>They wouldn&#8217;t know what to say<\/b> (29%)\n<\/li>\n<li><b>They fear hurting their friendship<\/b> (28%)\n<\/li>\n<li><b>They wouldn&#8217;t want to hurt feelings or embarrass their friends<\/b> (27%) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;While we work tirelessly every day to provide teens and young adults with tools and resources to recognize dating abuse, the results from <span class=\"xn-person\">Mary Kay&#8217;s<\/span> survey provides validation that young people need more education to feel comfortable intervening or getting the right help,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">Katie Ray-Jones<\/span>, CEO of the National Domestic Violence Hotline. &#8220;As technology evolves, so must domestic violence advocates in our prevention and education efforts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The 2017 survey is part of <span class=\"xn-person\">Mary Kay&#8217;s<\/span> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marykay.com\/en-us\/about-mary-kay\/social-responsiblity\/local-market-initiatives\" rel=\"nofollow\">Don&#8217;t Look Away<\/a> campaign which works to educate the public on recognizing the signs of an abusive relationship, how to take action and to raise awareness for support services.
