{"id":58671,"date":"2017-12-07T09:48:00","date_gmt":"2017-12-06T20:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hispanicprwire.com\/english-whitefish-energy-completes-work-in-puerto-rico\/"},"modified":"2017-12-07T10:50:02","modified_gmt":"2017-12-07T14:50:02","slug":"whitefish-energy-completa-trabajo-en-puerto-rico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hispanicprwire.com\/en\/whitefish-energy-completa-trabajo-en-puerto-rico\/","title":{"rendered":"Whitefish Energy Completes Work In Puerto Rico"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<style type=\"text\/css\"><![CDATA[\n\/* Style Definitions *\/\nspan.prnews_span\n{\nfont-size:8pt;\nfont-family:\"Arial\";\ncolor:black;\n}\na.prnews_a\n{\ncolor:blue;\n}\nli.prnews_li\n{\nfont-size:8pt;\nfont-family:\"Arial\";\ncolor:black;\n}\np.prnews_p\n{\nfont-size:0.62em;\nfont-family:\"Arial\";\ncolor:black;\nmargin:0in;\n}\n]]><\/style>\n<div class=\"xn-content\">\n<p><span class=\"xn-location\">SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-chron\">Dec. 6, 2017<\/span> \/PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE\/ &#8212; Whitefish Energy has <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/3F3RqZG1-JA\" rel=\"nofollow\">completed the projects<\/a> to make important transmission line and electrical grid repairs in Puerto Rico.\u00a0 As the first contractor to get to the island following the destruction of Hurricane Maria on <span class=\"xn-chron\">Sep. 20<\/span>, Whitefish Energy&#8217;s work was primarily focused on main 230kV transmission lines that covered the remote, mountainous areas of <span class=\"xn-location\">Puerto Rico<\/span> and connected key power generating stations and substations to major population and industrial centers.<\/p>\n<p>While a number of federal agencies and other contractors eventually joined in the power restoration effort, Whitefish Energy and the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) were initially the only parties on the ground making repairs.\u00a0 Over the course of two months, Whitefish Energy brought more than 550 crew members and 600 pieces of heavy equipment to the island, overcoming early logistics and transportation challenges to get both manpower and support services to Puerto Rico.\u00a0 By the time Whitefish Energy completed its work on <span class=\"xn-chron\">Nov. 30<\/span>, power restoration stood at 65.6 percent and it should continue to increase with the <span class=\"xn-chron\">Nov. 30<\/span> completion of the important 50900 transmission line that runs from the south side of the island into the greater <span class=\"xn-location\">San Juan<\/span> metropolitan area. With the restoration of key transmission lines, PREPA and other contractors can now continue the distribution line work that will bring power into more neighborhoods and facilities.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are extremely proud of the work our teams accomplished and the contribution we made to the recovery efforts in <span class=\"xn-location\">Puerto Rico<\/span>,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">Andy Techmanski<\/span>, CEO of Whitefish Energy.\u00a0 &#8220;This was a mission and more than just a job, and our linemen and subcontractors worked together and remained focused on helping the people of Puerto Rico.\u00a0 We are pleased that many of our subcontractors are going to stay to continue this effort through completion.
