Balderas spent 8 years waiting for trial while claiming his innocence and is currently running out of options to avoid lethal injection. <br \/>For the last 12 years his wife <span class=\"xn-person\">Yancy Balderas<\/span>, a Salvadoran immigrant, has been desperately trying to demonstrate irregularities in the sentence and claiming the need for a new trial. <\/p>\n<p>On <span class=\"xn-chron\">December 6, 2005<\/span>, a hooded man breaks into a house in <span class=\"xn-location\">Houston, Texas<\/span>, and kills Eduardo Hern\u00e1ndez, a member of a local gang called <i>La Tercera Crips<\/i>. Days later, <span class=\"xn-person\">Wendy Bardales<\/span>, sister of the victim&#8217;s girlfriend, identifies the murderer as <span class=\"xn-person\">Juan Balderas<\/span> and he is sent to <span class=\"xn-location\">Harris County<\/span> jail, where he waited for a trial for eight and a half years.
