These investments boost reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for residents and businesses. They also improve critical services that support public safety and first responders.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, AT&amp;T made more than 560 wireless network upgrades in <span class=\"xn-location\">Puerto Rico<\/span>. Notable network enhancements included:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>More than 500 network capacity upgrades\n<\/li>\n<li>New cell site construction\n<\/li>\n<li>Nearly a dozen in-building coverage projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also in 2017, AT&amp;T spent more than <span class=\"xn-money\">$600 million<\/span> on recovery efforts and service credits across all natural disasters affecting the U.S. and <span class=\"xn-location\">Puerto Rico<\/span>, with a significant portion of the total related to <span class=\"xn-location\">Puerto Rico<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re now speeding our wireless build out plans in <span class=\"xn-location\">Puerto Rico<\/span> with tens of millions of dollars dedicated to improving its mobile network,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">Jose Juan Davila<\/span>, VP-GM of AT&amp;T Puerto Rico. &#8220;This investment will also pave the path to 5G mobile services in the years ahead.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>By building out our 4G LTE network, we&#8217;re laying the foundation for 5G, the next advance in network technologies.
