Some cities and counties have a local minimum wage that is higher than the state rate. Workers paid less than the minimum wage are urged to contact the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dir.ca.gov\/dlse\/dlse.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">Labor Commissioner&#8217;s Office<\/a> in their area to file a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dir.ca.gov\/dlse\/HowToFileWageClaim.htm\" rel=\"nofollow\">wage claim<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Employers must post information on wages, hours and working conditions at a worksite area accessible to employees. Brown Jr.<\/span> signed SB 3 (Leno) on <span class=\"xn-chron\">April 4, 2016<\/span> making <span class=\"xn-location\">California<\/span> the first state in the nation to commit to raising the minimum wage to <span class=\"xn-money\">$15<\/span> per hour statewide by 2022 for large businesses, and by 2023 for small businesses.
