Other first-time recipients include six Five-Star restaurants, eight Five-Star spas and 21 Four-Star spas. The Peninsula Manila earned its fifth star this year, which pushed the <span class=\"xn-location\">Hong Kong<\/span>-based brand&#8217;s tally to 10 Five-Star hotels.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Forbes Travel Guide rates properties in 76 countries throughout the Americas, <span class=\"xn-location\">Europe<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Asia-Pacific<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Africa<\/span> and the <span class=\"xn-location\">Middle East<\/span>. Newly added destinations for 2019 include: <span class=\"xn-location\">Anguilla<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Bahrain<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Belize<\/span>, Danang, <span class=\"xn-location\">Doha<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Hanoi<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Ho Chi Minh City<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-person\">Hoi An<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Istanbul<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Oman<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Perth<\/span>, the Swiss Alps, <span class=\"xn-location\">Tel Aviv<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-location\">Uruguay<\/span>. <\/p>\n<p>Several countries captured their first Five-Star hotel: <span class=\"xn-location\">Malaysia<\/span> (Crockfords at Resorts World Genting), <span class=\"xn-location\">Portugal<\/span> (Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon), <span class=\"xn-location\">South Korea<\/span> (The Shilla Seoul), <span class=\"xn-location\">Turkey<\/span> (Raffles Istanbul) and <span class=\"xn-location\">Vietnam<\/span> (Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, <span class=\"xn-person\">Hoi An<\/span>).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"xn-location\">London<\/span> unseated <span class=\"xn-location\">Macau<\/span> as the city with the most Five-Star hotels, thanks to four new additions (Bulgari Hotel &amp; Residences, <span class=\"xn-location\">London<\/span>; The Langham, <span class=\"xn-location\">London<\/span>; Mandarin Oriental, <span class=\"xn-person\">Hyde Park<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">London<\/span>; Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, <span class=\"xn-location\">London<\/span>). <span class=\"xn-location\">London<\/span> finished with 13 top-ranking hotels, with <span class=\"xn-location\">Macau<\/span> at a close 12.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. added two Five-Star hotels (<span class=\"xn-location\">Hawaii&#8217;s<\/span> Four Seasons Resort Lanai and the D.C. area&#8217;s Salamander Resort &amp; Spa).
