This milestone follows years of collaboration, with the two organizations signing the data services agreement (DSA) in October of 2015.<\/p>\n<div id=\"prni_dvprnejpgeffeleft\" style=\"WIDTH: 100%; TEXT-ALIGN: left\" dir=\"ltr\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"prnejpgeffeleft\" title=\"Aireon - MAKING GLOBAL AIR TRAFFIC SURVEILLANCE A POWERFUL REALITY \" border=\"0\" alt=\"Aireon - MAKING GLOBAL AIR TRAFFIC SURVEILLANCE A POWERFUL REALITY \" align=\"middle\" imagelabel=\"General\" src=\"https:\/\/mma.prnewswire.com\/media\/390350\/Aireon_LLC_Logo.jpg\"\/><\/div>\n<p>Effective immediately, DC-ANSP will have 100 percent air traffic surveillance over the 300,000 square kilometers that make up Cura\u00e7ao&#8217;s FIR. Adjacent to <span class=\"xn-location\">Venezuela<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Puerto Rico<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Dominican Republic<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Haiti<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Jamaica<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-location\">Colombia<\/span>, the majority of this FIR is oceanic.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Space-based ADS-B will revolutionize how DC-ANSP ensures the highest levels of safety and efficiency throughout the Cura\u00e7ao FIR,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">Micilia Albertus-Verboom<\/span>, Director General, DC-ANSP. &#8220;Before Aireon, the northwestern sector of our FIR lacked real-time air traffic surveillance coverage. Now, space-based ADS-B provides coverage where before there was none.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>The Cura\u00e7ao FIR is a major throughway for flights; DC-ANSP manages critical routes between <span class=\"xn-location\">the United States<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Central America<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">South America<\/span>, the <span class=\"xn-location\">Caribbean<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-location\">Europe<\/span> throughout\u00a0the Cura\u00e7ao FIR. Because of space-based ADS-B coverage, DC-ANSP&#8217;s air traffic controllers will be able to reduce separation and guide overflight efficiency in the northwestern sector of the Cura\u00e7ao FIR.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Director General Albertus-Verboom also noted, &#8220;among the many benefits we anticipate, Aireon will allow us to facilitate seamless transitions between Cura\u00e7ao&#8217;s neighboring FIRs.
