In <span class=\"xn-chron\">December 2017<\/span>, Dr. Dawut, an expert in Uyghur culture studies, disappeared while she was traveling from her base in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region\u00a0to <span class=\"xn-location\">Beijing<\/span>.
