The <i>Diversity <\/i>indicator is jointly led by the <span class=\"xn-org\">University of California Davis<\/span> \u2013 last year&#8217;s number-one &#8211; and <span class=\"xn-org\">New York University<\/span>. <\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Only six of the top-20 universities also achieve a top-20 score for <i>Diversity &amp; Internationalization<\/i>. <\/li>\n<li>Among the Top-100, the institutions with the highest student ethnic diversity are UC Riverside, UC Irvine, and <span class=\"xn-org\">University of Hawaii at Manoa<\/span> <\/li>\n<li>All bar one of the top-10 for <i>Student Ethnicity Mix<\/i> is a public university, indicating that public universities are meeting their social obligations to increase diversity. <\/li>\n<li>Among the Top-100, the institutions with the highest proportion of female staff are liberal arts colleges &#8211; <span class=\"xn-org\">Barnard College<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-org\">Wellesley College<\/span>, with over 60% female academic staff. <\/li>\n<li>Some of America&#8217;s top research institutions perform less strongly when gender diversity is examined. <span class=\"xn-org\">MIT<\/span>, scoring third for <i>Research<\/i>, has only 28% female staff, and <span class=\"xn-org\">Stanford<\/span> (second for research) only records 35% of its staff as female. <\/li>\n<li>QS&#8217;s data shows that tech-focused institutions still lag behind their peers in terms of widening female workforce participation. Among the ranking&#8217;s top 100, the institutions with the lowest ratio of female to male staff are Caltech, <span class=\"xn-org\">New Jersey Institute of Technology<\/span>, Rensselaer Institute of Technology, and <span class=\"xn-org\">MIT<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <i>QS <span class=\"xn-location\">USA<\/span> University Rankings<\/i> also prioritizes employability and teaching quality as key lenses through which to assess institutional performance. <\/p>\n<p><span class=\"xn-person\">Jack Moran<\/span>, QS Spokesperson, said: &#8220;While the overall <i>QS World University Rankings <\/i>continue to command record levels of interest, we know that the American higher education sector is wrestling with questions that do not fall within the scope of our global rankings \u2013 questions of equity, access, representation, and social justice.
