In 1942, he boldly approached a local businessman for a loan of <span class=\"xn-money\">20,000 pesos<\/span> to open his own distillery \u2013 what&#8217;s now known as &#8220;<span class=\"xn-location\">La Primavera<\/span>&#8221; \u2013 \u00a0where Tequila Don Julio continues to be made today. As a result of his legendary devotion and commitment to his craft, Gonz\u00e1lez revolutionized the tequila industry and was given the title of Don as a sign of utmost respect.
