The investment helped TMMTX prepare for production of the next generation Tundra by expanding its facility by 141,000 linear feet \u2013 equivalent to 470 football fields \u2013 to accommodate new processes and cutting-edge technologies to bring the redesigned powerhouse truck to loyal customers.\u00a0This includes preparations to assemble a hybrid electric version Tundra \u2013 the brand&#8217;s 12<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0electrified vehicle \u2013 \u00a0that will go on sale in early 2022.\u00a0TMMTX has the annual capacity to build 208,000 vehicles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There is no brand more powerful than Made In Texas, and Toyota&#8217;s <span class=\"xn-location\">San Antonio<\/span>-based production of the all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra is a testament to that,&#8221; said Governor Abbott. &#8220;Toyota has played a pivotal role in <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas&#8217;<\/span> continued economic success, and I am grateful for the billions of dollars in investment and thousands of jobs they have brought to the Lone Star State.
