Barbara Mori, the Uruguayan actress who is promoting her most recent film “Cosas Insignificantes,” topped the Pop list last month as she revealed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer while working on the film but that she had completely recovered thanks to early detection. Searches for Gaby Espino also peaked in April as news broke that the actress will participate in “Mas sabe el diablo,” a remake of the popular Colombian telenovela “Por que diablos,” now filming in Miami. Sofia Vergara, another Hispanic beauty, was popular among Yahoo! En Espanol users as the Colombian model and actress debuted in the Broadway musical “Chicago” in the role of Mama Morton to rave reviews. The World Health Organization (Organizacion Mundial de la Salud) also made the top ten list as Hispanics across the nation turned to the world’s authority on health issues to obtain the latest statistics and news on the swine flu epidemic. The European TV show “Britain’s Got Talent” was also popular among Yahoo! En Espanol users, who searched for contestant Susan Boyle’s performance, which wowed the show’s judges and the online community with the song “I Dream the Dream” from Les Miserables. Other Pop favorites last month included singer Alicia Keys, actresses Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria and the popular telenovela “Dona Barbara.”

In addition to the most popular overall topics, Yahoo! Pop also reveals the Top Ten Searches in six other categories: entertainment, music, technology, celebrities, news and sports. During the month of April, actress Eva Longoria was the most searched for in the entertainment and celebrity categories. The news category was dominated by searches for hit British show “Britain’s Got Talent” and information on the OMS, while the sports category was all about soccer with CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football) and Liga Mexicana nabbed the No.1 and No.2 spots on the list.

In addition, Yahoo! users searched for news on Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Alicia Machado and Demi Lovato, who were among the most searched in the music category.
