Miami, FL–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–November 29, 2007–Yahoo! and Americas Society and Council of the Americas (AS/COA) today announced a regional content distribution agreement to provide both English and Spanish-language editorial content from AS/COA to the Yahoo! Spanish-language properties in the Americas. The editorial content will consist of articles, both from the new AS/COA policy journal, Americas Quarterly, and its monthly policy bulletin, News & Views. In working with AS/COA, Yahoo! users will be offered provocative political commentary, summaries, interviews and regional updates related to policy, politics, economics and business trends in the Americas. The special coverage will be available on Yahoo!’s existing Spanish language properties and incorporated into the news sections of Yahoo! Telemundo (yahootelemundo.com/noticias), Yahoo! Mexico (noticias.mx.yahoo.com) and Yahoo! Argentina (ar.news.yahoo.com)
“We are excited to partner with such a prestigious organization within the international business arena to provide our millions of users throughout the Americas the latest in policy news, views and trends,” said Jose Rivera Font, general manager, Yahoo! Hispanic Americas. “Our relationship with the Americas Society and Council of the Americas allows Yahoo! to augment related news coverage and offer more in-depth and insightful analysis.”
As part of the agreement, users from all three (3) Spanish language properties (Yahoo! Telemundo, Yahoo! Mexico and Yahoo! Argentina) will also have access to photos, illustrations and graphs related to these articles. In addition, users of all three (3) properties will be able to interact with editors and writers from Americas Quarterly and News & Views on Yahoo! Respuestas (Answers), where they will post two (2) questions per month and select the best answers received, as well as respond to questions posted by users on an ongoing basis.
“We’re proud to be a part of Yahoo!’s international content offerings and to be able to actively engage with Yahoo!’s active and expansive on-line community.” said Christopher Sabatini, editor-in-chief, Americas Quarterly and senior director of policy, Americas Society and Council of the Americas. “We are looking forward to interacting with our readers in a whole new level.”
