Zola Keller Presents Hispanic Designer Runway Fashion Show & Awards Luncheon

Ft. Lauderdale, FL–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–Sept. 16, 2003–Zola Keller, a legendry name in retailing, is teaming up with Bank of America/Viva Broward for the second year in a row to showcase Hispanic fashion designers in a luncheon and runway fashion show that will also honor thirteen ‘Hispanic Women of Distinction’ on Wednesday, September 17th at the Sheraton Yankee Trader Hotel. The elegant event will also present the first George Jimenez Award of Achievement to a member of the Hispanic community of Broward that has “…dedicated themselves unselfishly to the welfare of the Hispanic community.” according to Mrs. Keller.

Zola will be showcasing designs by Carmela Sutera, Lila Couture, Ysa Makimo and her newest line, Oscar de la Renta Bridal for the runway fashion show. Franco Montoro of Venezuela, Lourdes Kurrie of Quetzal Couture from Peru and Clarence Ramirez of Rose Taft from Puerto Rico will personally show couture fashions.

“Zola is taking this fashion component of Hispanic Heritage Month to a new level, as only she can do,” enthused Elaine Miceli-Vasquez, Editor of El Heraldo de Broward who along with her husband, Dr. Erwin Vasquez, are the driving force of the annual Bank of America/Viva Broward celebration of Hispanic heritage. “With the generous support of one of the community’s leading philanthropists, Ms. Mary Porter, this event will benefit Clinic Luz Del Mundo/The Light of the World Clinic and provide funding for a yearly award to recognize her long time friend, George Jimenez.” The Light of the World Clinic is the only free healthcare clinic providing service to the immigrant and refugee community and is funded solely by donations.

The women that will be honored at the luncheon include: Nohemi Alarcon, Monica Almas, Helena Caplan, Laura Corry, Evisabel Fabrega, Catalina Fazzano, Rina Lichtinger, Yvonne Lopez, Aida Marina Mathison-Mower, Marta Rendon, Margaret Sanchez, Miream Sierra and Maria Soldani. Tickets are $50 per person for the Luncheon & Fashion Show or $100.00 which includes the VIP Cocktail Reception to meet the Designers and Award Honorees prior to the Luncheon.
