GALVESTON, Texas, May 21, 2025 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Overcomers Outreach is expanding its community impact this year with a full slate of events aimed at bringing dignity, hope, and real-world support to Galveston County families, children, and the homeless community. Following the success of its Easter Celebration in April—which brought together hundreds of volunteers, donors, and guests—Overcomers is now preparing a yearlong calendar of outreach events that put compassion into action.

On April 12, in partnership with Spike Electric and a group of dedicated local organizations, Overcomers Outreach hosted an Easter Celebration and Outreach Event at Menard Park. The event drew over 300 attendees and provided Easter baskets, hot meals, blankets, hygiene items, and clothing to children, low-income families, and individuals experiencing homelessness.

“This event was never about charity. It was about dignity, connection, and showing people they’re not forgotten,” said Cole Attaway, CEO of Spike Electric. “We want to lead, not just in business but in serving our communities with humility and love.”

The event served:

  • Boys & Girls Homes – Giving children without families the chance to celebrate Easter surrounded by love and community.
  • Low-Income Families – Offering seasonal joy and tangible resources to families under financial strain.
  • The Homeless Community – Providing food, clothing, and care packages filled with essential items for day-to-day survival.

Each participating organization—including His Recovery Home, Recovery Chicks, Seawall Church, and JankieFit—played a vital role through financial contributions, volunteer hours, and donated supplies. Beyond the logistics, the event served as a reminder of what happens when nonprofits, businesses, and faith communities unite to care for those often overlooked.

“This isn’t a one-time thing,” added Attaway. “We’re continuing this all year long.”

With momentum from April’s event, Overcomers Outreach is officially launching its 2025 Community Outreach Series—designed to meet practical needs while fostering trust and belonging across Galveston County.

2025 Event Series at Menard Park

In addition to seasonal events, Overcomers Outreach now hosts monthly outreach events on the second Saturday of each month, 10:30 AM – Noon, at Menard Park (2222 28th St, Galveston, TX). These gatherings offer consistent support to the community through meals, supplies, and connection.
