CLIFTON PARK, N.Y., June 12, 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Genius Plaza unveiled its Learning Summer Victory Challenge as it continues to work to close the achievement gap. Genius Plaza is an education technology social enterprise working to ignite the genius in every child, and specializing in creating teaching platforms and apps for students from PreK through 12th grade. During the summer months, all students will have access to Genius Plaza to read eBooks, play math and language arts games, practice exercises, write their own eBooks, and even create their own games. Students who finish the “daily learning workout” from Monday through Friday will earn virtual prizes, and also be entered to win fun prizes, including VR sets and tablets.
“Each year, we hear about summer learning loss and how it widens the achievement gap between lower- and higher-income students. Research shows that the estimated learning loss in math and literacy rates over the summer months is approximately one to 2.6 months of grade-level equivalency, with lower-income students seeing a greater impact. “We know there are geniuses in every zip code, which is why we are focused on providing access to all students. During the summer months, parents and students will have free access to our platform so they can read, practice math and vocabulary, play games, and even create content for ten minutes each day while winning prizes,” added Emirzian.
The level of time a student should spend studying each day, ranges between 10 to 45 minutes, depends on their grade level.
Parents can access Genius Plaza at www.geniusplaza.com/summer and create accounts for their kids. Each week, Genius Plaza will announce new winners from those students completing at least ten minutes of work on the Genius Plaza platform.
