Grammy Award Winners La Santa Cecilia to Perform at CHCI’s 38th Annual Awards Gala in Washington, D.C
WASHINGTON, Aug. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), the nation’s leading Hispanic leadership development and educational services organization, today announced that Grammy-Award winning Latin rock band La Santa Cecilia will perform during the entertainment finale at its 38th Annual Awards Gala on Thursday, October 8, 2015, in Washington, D.C.

La Santa Cecilia exemplifies the modern day creative hybrid of Latin culture, rock and world music. The band traverses a musical landscape as diverse as its home base of Los Angeles, churning together cumbia, tango, rock, rumba, jazz and even klezmer into its own brand of joyfully explosive international pop. Featuring accordion, guitar and percussion behind the vocals of the soulful and charismatic Marisol Hernández, La Santa Cecilia is an emerging musical face of young Latinos.
The band’s album Treinta Días won for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album at the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards in 2014.

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated annually from September 15 – October 15.
