Fire stations wake up to new and unexpected challenges every day. They can receive a call for a victim trapped in a hotel; a man impaled on the border; an arson in a thrift shop; a group of pregnant women trapped inside a crashed car at the border; or a man suffering a heart attack in mid-flight.
