Historic Debate Between Two Hispanic Candidates Running For A Seat In The Hardee County Commission

ZOLFO SPRINGS, Fla., Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — For the first time in Hardee County history, two Hispanic candidates are running for a seat in the Commission. One of them is Mexican-American and the other is Mexican-Puerto Rican. Due to this unprecedented political moment, Solmart Media, owner of WZSP-FM 105.3/WZZS-FM 106.9 and WTMY-FM 99.1/WTMY-AM 1280 will host its first ever Spanish political debate. Our only aim is to allow the candidates to take their messages directly to our Spanish speaking audience. The debate will be broadcast live on both Solmart Media signals, La Zeta and La Numero Uno, as well as Facebook Live.

The broadcast will follow a standard political debate format. Each candidate will be given a 2 minute introduction, 2 minutes to answer and rebut questions a 2 minute closing statement. The public will be allowed to ask questions in person and through Facebook. The debate will be moderated by Mercedes Soler, renowned Spanish TV journalist and co-owner of Solmart Media as well as local radio personality Diana González.

Immediately after the one-hour live Spanish broadcast, Mercedes and Diana will invite the public gathered at the venue to participate in a similar debate but in English. The second debate will not be broadcast.
