Iranian Nuclear Agreement & Latino Evangelical Support of Israel Key Topics of Hispanic-Israel Gathering
NHCLC’s Hispanic Israel Leadership Coalition Summit to be held August 30-31
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Aug. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference’s (NHCLC) Hispanic Israel Leadership Coalition (HILC) in conjunction with the Jewish Federation of Broward County and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee will hold its historic International Summit for Israel in the Fort Lauderdale area, August 30-31. The summit will focus on the Iranian nuclear agreement, Latino evangelical support of Israel, and the rise of Hezbollah and Iranian influence in Latin America, among others. More than 2,000 attendees are expected.
“Never before has the Pro-Israel community had such a compelling reason to unite and stand together,” said president of HILC Pastor Mario Bramnick. “Discussions regarding the dangers of the Iranian Nuclear Deal will be front and center at the Summit, just days before Congress will vote on the approval or disapproval of the deal in September.
During the public session on Sunday, August 30 at 6:30 p.m. EDT, Joe Negron, Florida senate president, will be discussing his landmark bill that cuts off the state’s contracting with businesses that participate in discriminatory boycotts against Israel.
Sunday’s session will also feature speakers uniting in support of Israel, including Ron Dermer, Israeli Ambassador to the United States; Carlos Lopez-Cantera, Lieutenant Governor of Florida; Bramnick, president of HILC; David Ruben, former mayor of Shiloh, Israel; Dr. Alberto Delgado and president of the Pastors Association of Greater Miami. Florida members from both parties of Congress including U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen; U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings; U.S. Rep Lois Frankel; U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch and U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson will also address the session.
“The Iran nuclear agreement will be a disaster for the national security of America and Israel,” Bramnick continued. “Congress must reject the deal. Iran is openly committed to the destruction of America and Israel, and we simply cannot afford to risk our future on a bad agreement that paves their way to a nuclear Iran.”
Monday, August 31, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. EDT community leaders will join for the HILC Leaders Mobilization meeting during which topics of the Iranian deal, evangelical support of Israel, Florida anti-BDS legislation, spreading Israel’s message in Latin America countries, Jewish-Christian relations, Israel youth activation, and the rise of Hezbollah and Iranian influence in Latin America will be discussed by special guest speakers.
“Southern Florida is home to millions of supporters of the relationship between the U.S. and Israel,” said Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, NHCLC President. “The purpose of the International Summit for Israel is to give voice to the community and open a discussion about the future of Israel at this critical moment in history.”
The free, public event on Sunday will be held at Nova Southeastern University Arena located at 3301 College Avenue in Davie, Florida. Monday’s leadership meeting will be located at Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El at 8200 Peters Road, Plantation, Florida. For more information or to register, visit www.floridaunitedforisrael.com.
