Nordstrom Opens Doors At Mall Of San Juan In Puerto Rico
SEATTLE, March 26, 2015 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Leading fashion specialty retailer Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) today opened the doors to its first store in Puerto Rico at The Mall of San Juan. The two-level, 138,000 square-foot store features the latest interior and exterior design concepts, three restaurants and an enhanced beauty experience.

The store houses five shoe departments, expansive cosmetics and accessories areas and a comprehensive offering of popular brand names for women, men and children. Customers can find shoes and handbags from Valentino, Manolo Blahnik, Tory Burch, Vince Camuto, Michael Kors and many more. The women’s apparel offering features fashion from numerous brands, including Missoni, Versace Collection, Herve Leger, Topshop, BCBG, Michael Michael Kors, Elizabeth and James and Haute Hippie, among others. Customers will find brands like Burberry Beauty, Chanel, Jo Malone, La Mer, Khiel’s, MAC, Creed and more in the beauty department, which has been designed to enable customers to shop the way they want – whether they’re looking for a high-touch service experience or the opportunity to discover and play on their own.
In addition to its vast merchandise offering, Nordstrom Mall of San Juan features the company’s newest design concepts, which incorporate natural light, wood finishes and other modern updates. Nordstrom also offers services and amenities including in-store alterations and tailoring, certified shoe and bra fitters, and Personal Stylists (a free wardrobing and shopping service).
The store also features three food offerings: Bazille, a full-service, bistro-style restaurant, Habitant, a bar where customers can enjoy delicious small plates and handcrafted cocktails, and the Ebar, which offers specialty coffee drinks and grab-and-go food options.
Opening day festivities began at 8:00 a.m. with a Beauty Bash hosted by Nordstrom just outside the store’s mall entrance. Customers enjoyed complimentary skincare consultations, demonstrations and makeup lessons from the store’s team of beauty and fragrance experts. When the first customers walked through the doors as the store opened at 10:00 a.m., they were greeted by cheers and applause from more than 600 employees.
Ahead of the store’s opening day, Nordstrom hosted and underwrote the cost of a gala for 1,800 guests. Ticket sales from the event raised $120,000 for three local nonprofit organizations: Boys & Girls Clubs de Puerto Rico, Fundación Infantil Ronald McDonald and SER [Sociedad de Educación y Rehabilitación] de Puerto.
