MEMPHIS, Tenn., Nov. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Hispanic communities from the Northwest called their favorite radio stations on Nov. 12-13 to support the inaugural Bustos Media Promesa y Esperanza® (Promise and Hope) radiothon benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.
Held in 8 markets across Oregon and Washington, the event raised more than $165,000 to support the St. Jude mission: Finding cures. Saving children.® Callers became Ángeles de Esperanza (Angels of Hope) by donating $20 per month.
The 14 participating radio stations from La Grand, La Zeta and La Pantera radio networks are based in Portland and Salem Oregon, as well as Seattle, Wenatchee, Tri-Cities and Yakima Washington. Because of successful events like these, no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food, because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Promesa y Esperanza® radio fundraising events began in 1997, with just three participating radio stations. Eighteen years later, 100 radio stations in 55 markets across the country help raise $10 million every year for the children of St. Jude.
