Houston Latinas interested in becoming a real estate agent and awarded scholarships by Century 21 Real Estate, will receive financial support, training and mentorship in pursuit of a future in real estate
70 Hispanic women awarded scholarships through inaugural program in South Florida
MADISON, New Jersey, Sept. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — In keeping with its new mission to “defy mediocrity and deliver extraordinary experiences,” Century 21 Real Estate LLC, franchisor of the iconic CENTURY 21® brand, in partnership with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, is continuing its “Empowering Latinas” program, this time offering the educational and business opportunity to help Latinas living in Houston get a real estate license. In addition, CENTURY 21 affiliated broker owners have agreed to serve as mentors for the scholars and will offer them the opportunity to learn the real estate business in a local brokerage office.
“This program reinforces our collective efforts to help recruit the best and brightest agents to the CENTURY 21 brand,” said Cara Whitley, chief marketing officer, Century 21 Real Estate LLC. “We are proud of the positive impact of the Empowering Latinas launch in South Florida and look forward to our efforts making a difference in Houston.”
In its inaugural program last year, 70 Latina entrepreneurs in South Florida were awarded scholarships. In Houston, the Empowering Latinas scholarships will continue to cover the cost of the required coursework, delivered by the University of Houston, necessary for a real estate license and the cost for the Texas real estate license exam.
“With my entrepreneurial spirit, I wanted to work with a company that would help me achieve my professional dreams and a higher standard of living, which is why I joined Century 21 Real Estate,” said Marisol Guzman, CENTURY 21 Garlington & Associates Inc. in Houston. “I’m proud to be with a company that respects my identity and is focused on helping others, like me, achieve their real estate and financial dreams.”
Like Guzman, Maribel Ramos, of CENTURY 21 Mike Bowman in Dallas, also wants to help bring awareness to the “Empowering Latinas” program. “As a Hispanic woman, I will not settle for average and work hard to take every opportunity to move forward in life,” she added. “This program will allow more Latinas, like me, to be agents of change and learn firsthand how the CENTURY 21 brand affords its people the opportunity to dream big and take charge of their future.”
The deadline to apply for the “Empowering Latinas” scholarship is November 15, 2018. Go to C21empoweringlatinas.com to apply or for further details about the program.
