Chronicled Unveils Confidential Chain of Custody Solution at China Trade Development Week

SHANGHAI, July 9, 2018 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Chronicled, Inc. has announced the launch of a confidential chain of custody solution at China Trade Development Week (GTDW) in Shanghai.  The solution consists of secure product identifiers, mobile Apps, a web dashboard, and blockchain-as-a-service and is ideal for securing chain of custody for high value products. The solution is especially useful when there is a need to demonstrate that products are authentic and to prove their origin back to a bonafide producer.

The launch was announced by Chronicled CMO Sam Radocchia, a co-founder of the company, who was featured amongst a distinguished panel of global leaders by the event’s organizers. She presented at a workshop entitled “Brand Protection: Why Countering Illicit Trade and Promoting Market Integrity Are Vital.” The workshop was chaired by former Head of The OECD Task Force on Countering Illicit Trade, Mr. David M. Luna. Mr. Luna is now CEO of Luna Global Networks & Convergence Strategies LLC, an international consultancy firm providing strategic advisory services to address some of the security and business challenges facing today’s global markets.

“The size of today’s global illicit markets is massive,” said Mr. Luna. “An array of consumer goods are impacted, from medicines and electronics to shoes, apparel, foodstuffs, and auto parts. They’re extremely profitable, so we see a tremendous amount of fake goods, and some are defective, toxic or dangerous and have killed tens of thousands of people. Smart products, cosmetics, movies, watches—you name it, there are counterfeits.  The reality is that every IP product can be counterfeited by criminals and illicit networks.”

Chronicled has developed a solution capable of proving physical chain of custody using the blockchain, mobile devices, and secure digital identifiers to track physical assets. The strongest of these identifiers are the same encrypted NFC chips that are used in credit cards and government IDs.  Lower cost secure barcode, 2D matrix, and QR code technologies are also available, and the system can work at the individual product, shipping unit, or palette level.  The system ensures that a product’s history can be verified with 100% certainty, including tracking identity transformations of raw materials inputs, and appending documents and data along the chain of custody.

Diagram of Chronicled's physical chain of custody system.

According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and  Development (OECD) and other bodies, the trade in the largest counterfeit markets continues to grow. These include sensitive industries whose products are important to human health, global security and other crucial concerns. The top ten illicit markets as of the most recent available data are: Pharmaceuticals; Food; Luxury Apparel/Consumer Goods; Tobacco Products; Autos/Transportation; Environmentally Sensitive Goods; Corruption and Money Laundering; International Foreign Assistance; Defense; and the Theft of High Value Wine, Art, and Collectibles.  Clearly, given the enormous economic impact of these verticals, combined with the public health and safety implications of many, a powerful solution is needed.

“We’ve worked very hard over the past several years at Chronicled to develop a real solution to this problem – one that has never existed before,” said Radocchia, the CMO. “Now, using the blockchain, we have a decentralized platform that is capable of solving some of these problems that have faced industry for decades. We’re very grateful for the opportunity to speak and discuss our work with the international community in Shanghai.”  Among the international organizations present at the GTDW meeting included the World Trade Organization (WTO), OECD, INTERPOL, International Trademark Association (INTA), United Nations, World Customs Organization (WCO), and many others.

March of Dimes Foundation Logo

WASHINGTON, July 9, 2018 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — March of Dimes, the nation’s leading maternal and infant health nonprofit, today announced the next phase of its MOMentum advocacy network with the unveiling of its inaugural cohort of women chosen from over 200 applicants to champion the issues important to women, moms, babies and families.

March of Dimes Foundation Logo

March of Dimes President Stacey D. Stewart and Ms. Carlson convened the group of 20 women on Capitol Hill to kick off the year-long advocacy fellowship. The experience begins with the MOMentum Meetup, a series of workshops on grassroots organizing and advocacy, culminating with a Congressional day-of-action meeting with key legislators and staff.

“March of Dimes MOMentum marks the beginning of a movement, embodied by the next generation of women’s advocates dedicated to making a change for all moms and women,” said Stewart. “Bringing this powerful group together in Washington, D.C. signifies not only the critical need for grassroots engagement around issues that matter today, but the urgency for more action to address the health crisis women, moms and babies face in America.”

“I couldn’t be prouder of the group of women that have been selected for this inaugural class,” said Carlson. “They [the fellows] illustrate what today’s woman really looks like: engaged, active in their communities and using their networks to problem solve. They are natural leaders who will lift up the issues facing today’s moms, mothers-to-be and babies.”

Launched in partnership with Ms. Carlson and supported by her Gift of Courage Fund, the MOMentum Gretchen Carlson Advocacy Fellowship will engage and empower the fellows through regular trainings with leaders in maternal and child health and advocacy to learn how to shape public discussion, influence their networks and engage others to affect the changes needed to shape a brighter future for all moms and babies. Fellows will come together to build their skills in ongoing advocacy, media and storytelling training.

March of Dimes will activate the fellows throughout the year around important policy moments on both the national and state levels. On Tuesday, the fellows will lobby Members of Congress in support of the PREEMIE Reauthorization Act of 2018, a bill to renew and update federal programs that enhance research and education on the prevention and treatment of preterm births. The fellows will also advocate in support of national legislation to reduce maternal mortality, such as the Preventing Maternal Deaths Act and the Maternal Health Accountability Act.

The Revival Of The Fittest: Toyota Supra Gets Back To American Racing In NASCAR Xfinity Series

0
Supra will make its on-track debut in the NXS race at Daytona on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019.

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida, July 5, 2018 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Toyota Supra is back at the track! Beginning in 2019, the globally-recognized iconic sports car will prove its championship mettle in the hotly contested NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS). Supra will make its on-track debut in the NXS race at Daytona on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019.

Supra will make its on-track debut in the NXS race at Daytona on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019.

“When you talk Toyota and cool cars, Supra is the first thing that comes to mind for many auto enthusiasts,” said Ed Laukes, group vice president of Toyota Division Marketing. “Supra’s return in production form is huge news, but now we’re also going to see this iconic sports car return to American motorsport. From a marketing perspective, it’s important to have a race car that evokes the dynamism and character of its showroom counterpart. We’re confident we’ve accomplished that with Supra, and we hope racing fans the world over will proudly cheer its success on track.”

Toyota worked with its subsidiaries, TRD, U.S.A. (Toyota Racing Development) in Costa Mesa, California, and Calty Design Research, Inc. (Calty) in Newport Beach, California, to develop a Supra for NASCAR competition. The two teams applied key learnings from their prior collaborative efforts in NASCAR, which included the 2018 Toyota Camry that clinched the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship.

To build the Supra for NASCAR, TRD and Calty scaled Supra to fit within NASCAR’s specifications for race vehicle entries in the NXS.

“We’ve had tremendous success working with Calty to develop race cars that match the look, feel and excitement of their showroom counterparts,” said David Wilson, president of TRD. “We’re confident Calty and TRD have developed another race car, Supra, that is capable of winning races and championships. For Supra to be racing in NASCAR just speaks to how important this vehicle is to us, and that we believe Supra can be a bona fide championship winner.”

Toyota has fielded Camry in NXS competition since 2007, tallying four manufacturer championships while Camry has earned two driver championships and 142 wins. The 2019 season marks the first year Toyota will field a different model in all three of NASCAR’s national series – Camry at the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) level, Supra in the NXS, and Tundra in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS).

Supra previously raced in both America and Japan, where it was a dominant force in Super GT competition and a contender in the IMSA Camel GT Series in the 1980s. It also made two appearances in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in the 1990s.

TRD and Calty previously worked together to design:

  • 2013: Sixth-generation Camry for MENCS
  • 2014: Tundra for NCWTS
  • 2015: Seventh-generation Camry for NXS
  • 2016: Eighth-generation Camry for MENCS
  • 2017: Eighth-generation Camry for NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series

Calty has worked hand-in-hand with TRD, Toyota’s North American race engineer arm, to ensure consistency between production models and on-track Toyota race cars, while also improving on-track performance with each new build. The groups began work on the NASCAR Supra in 2017.

“When Ed (Laukes) told me they were bringing Supra back, I almost didn’t believe him. I figured he was messing with me, but Toyota did it and this is a big deal for the NASCAR Xfinity Series,” said Kyle Busch, who won the 2009 NXS championship in Camry. “Supra is an iconic cool car, and to have it racing in NASCAR to highlight Supra’s return speaks to how important this is. I’m hoping to be the first guy to get Supra to victory lane, but I’m sure there’s a few other Toyota drivers thinking the same thing.”

Reflecting Toyota’s commitment to motorsports in America, the manufacturer now showcases six models across eight series in America. Toyota Racing Development’s lineup includes: Camry, Supra, and Tundra in the NASCAR national series; Camry in the NHRA Funny Car competition; Camry in the ARCA Racing Series and regional touring series; 86 and Corolla Hatchback in Formula Drift; as well as engines for dirt midget racing and other series.

Toyota Motor North America will release more information about Supra in the future.

Statement Of The National Hispanic Medical Association On Trump Immigration Policy

0

WASHINGTON, July 5, 2018 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Latino health care professionals are outraged at the Trump Administration zero-tolerance policy – on refugees who are fleeing persecution and other immigrants – that has separated 2000 children from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border.  Our organizations’ priorities are to improve the health and wellness of Latinos and this Federal immigration policy will lead to worsening health disparities in our communities.

Medical research shows children do not have the capacity to cope with an overwhelming and devastating environment that causes immense levels of stress in the short-term, and mental and physical diseases in the long term.  The affected children’s deregulated healthy stress pathways will lead to future severe mental illness such as depression, suicide, and schizophrenia, decreased immune protection leading to cancers, cardiovascular and other disease, and decreased cognitive abilities.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) sends the separated children to detention centers across the nation and will release them to relatives or foster families. There are no protocols for keeping track of parents and children concurrently, for keeping parents and children in contact with each other, or for eventually reuniting them. In some cases, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deports parents before reuniting them with their children. Moreover, we believe that our broken immigration policy is not going to deter more immigrants from coming to America for a better life.

We believe that the U.S. should abide by international human rights law created after World War II that says to separate parents and children is prohibitive. We call for Congress to focus on comprehensive immigration policies including those that decrease the backlog of U.S. immigrant applications, abbreviate the legal review process for refugees and others at the border, expand Federal immigration judges, lawyers, and related workforce, and protect the dreamers with a new path to citizenship. We call for policies that will improve the quality of life of all Americans.

Wellness Architects Offers GAINSWave® in San Juan

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, July 5, 2018 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Wellness Architects is pleased to announce they now offer GAINSWave! This breakthrough noninvasive medical therapy uses low-intensity shockwave therapy to enhance sexual performance and to treat Erectile Dysfunction (ED) symptoms.

https://mma.prnewswire.com/media/519717/GAINSWave_Logo.jpg

As men age, the vessels in their penis weaken, contract and fill with micro-plaque, which can lead to Erectile Dysfunction. As these tiny vessels become clogged, the penis decreases in sensitivity, making it harder for men to achieve and maintain an erection. Thankfully, the GAINSWave protocols can enhance a man’s performance by using high-frequency acoustic waves to repair existing blood vessels and improve blood flow.

Thanks to the numerous clinical studies on Low-Intensity Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (Li-ESWT), we can see that this therapy improves not only Erectile Dysfunction symptoms but also sexual performance. “GAINSWave is an ideal solution for men looking to improve spontaneous erections without the use of Viagra or Cialis,” says Javier Cuevas, MD. Patients receiving GAINSWave therapy have reported improved erection quality, enhanced sexual performance and decreased refractory times between orgasms, which is why this a great alternative to ED medications.

This drug and surgery-free procedure only takes about 20 minutes and can enhance a man’s sex life while addressing the root cause of Erectile Dysfunction. Wellness Architects is now treating men with the GAINSWave Therapy in their offices located at 1400 Magdalena Avenue La Casabella 2nd Floor North Condado, P.R. 00907.

Dr. Cuevas is a certified physician with an Advanced Fellowship Training in Age Management Medicine Therapy from the Age Management Medicine Education Foundation and the Age Management Medicine Group.

Currently, Dr. Cuevas is finishing a second certification in Age Management Medicine with Dr. Neal Rouzier, M.D. at World Link Medical at the Academy of Preventive and Innovative Medicine at Salt Lake City, Utah.

Malu Trevejo voids her recording contract and files lawsuit against Universal Music Latino

MIAMI, July 4, 2018 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Maria Luisa Trevejo, better known as Malu Trevejo, has sued Universal Music Latino after her attorneys sent notice to disaffirm her exclusive recording agreement. Malu, now 15, was only 14 when she entered into the agreement and has the legal right to declare the agreement void due to Universal´s failure to have the agreement ratified by the court. Malu is not the first minor in the music business to adopt such measures, but in fact follows the line of several predecessors such as Lil Pump and the late xxxtentacion, both artists which have taken similar actions against their labels.

Malu Trevejo voids her recording contract and files lawsuit against Universal Music Latino

Last year the teen star signed a recording agreement and co-management agreement with Universal Music Latino through their sub label In-Tu Linea, run by CEO Jorge Pino. The artist has filed a declaratory action in Miami-Dade County seeking to validate her disaffirmance after Universal denied the minor’s rights.

The teen´s legal representative The Hachar Law Firm had sent notice as a series of difficulties began to arise shortly after releasing her debut multi-platinum single ¨Luna Llena¨ concerning the creative, developmental, and well-being aspects of the minor and the minor’s career.

Renowned attorney Richard Wolfe is representing the teen in the court action. Despite multiple attempts to address the concerns with the label, the issues continued yielding an extreme concern for the minor’s well-being, as the minor’s family and her representatives have expressed. In addition, it was the minor and her representative’s opinion at the time that the minor’s career was also being mishandled by the label and in particular, Mr. Pino.

At the offset of the agreement, the label failed to commence the timely court approval process as legally required to remove the disabilities of contracting with a minor. Several months later, the label refused to release the artist´s then third single ¨Sueltate¨ until court approval of the agreement was obtained, thereby putting the artist´s career on hold. It became clear to Malu and her family that the relationship with Mr. Pino and the label had severed beyond repair, and she decided to exercise her legal right to void the agreement.

In response to the lawsuit, Universal has filed counterclaims against the artist´s furnishing company, her mother, and her attorney. The artist intends to bring claims against several third parties, including co-manager Mr. Pino and his Universal sub label In-Tu Linea, for alleged breaches of fiduciary duties, among other possible claims. A court hearing on the matter is scheduled for July 27, 2018.
