In partnership with over 100 hospitals across the country, March of Dimes offers NICU Family Support®, a program which provides information and support to families during their baby’s stay in the NICU. This program helps more than 75,000 families each year.

Blink Fitness Brings Groundbreaking Mood Above Muscle™ Approach to Los Angeles, Opening its 60th Location Nationwide

0

NEW YORK, Dec. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Blink Fitness, the premium-quality, value-based gym, is thrilled to announce its arrival to the West Coast with the opening of its first three gyms in Los Angeles. Marking its 60th location, the first Blink Fitness will be opening in Gardena at Gardena Plaza on Friday, December 15 and will be followed by Huntington Park at the former Huntington Park Warner Theatre in early 2018, and Anaheim at Brookhurst Center in late 2018. Having established a strong footprint on the East Coast, as well as a rapidly expanding franchise business in additional markets, nationally, these three brand-new gyms mark the beginning of Blink’s expansion in the Los Angeles metro area.

Los Angeles residents will now be able to enjoy Blink’s groundbreaking model and unique brand philosophy, Mood Above Muscle™, which changes the rhetoric around fitness by making working out fun and uplifting. While most of the industry touts unrealistic goals and perfect body images, Blink is shifting the paradigm by celebrating the positive feeling that members get from working out instead of focusing on just the physical benefits. This concept comes to life in the company’s latest ad campaign, “Every Body Happy,” which features real Blink members of all shapes and fitness levels.

Blink’s approach aligns with what Angelinos are looking for in a gym as 84% of people in Los Angeles value feeling good over looking good, according to a survey commissioned by Blink and conducted by Radius. The survey also revealed insights that reinforce the need for the company’s fresh perspective:

  • 83% of Angelinos say their relationship with their bodies could be improved.
  • 72% of Angelinos say it’s discouraging to work towards unrealistic body images portrayed in the media.
  • 69% of people in Los Angeles feel more confident about themselves when they leave the gym than when they first walk in.

“Blink is changing the conversation around fitness with our Mood Above Muscle philosophy, said Todd Magazine, President of Blink Fitness.  “This approach resonates with a much broader audience of people because it showcases the immediate benefits of exercise. The physical benefits take time and patience, which is why so many people give up or never even start.  We’re excited to finally bring this breakthrough concept to the West Coast.”

To celebrate its arrival to the market and continue Blink’s dedication to supporting the communities that they serve, Blink partnered with renowned women’s fashion designer Johana Hernandez to create an exclusive Blink Fitness Collection by GLAUDI, which will be unveiled at the grand opening events and sold to collect proceeds for local youth-serving organizations. Based in Los Angeles, Johana currently stars in Amazon’s “The Fashion Hero,” a show that celebrates body positivity and empowers universal beauty, sharing Blink’s ethos on the importance of feeling good more so than looking good.

The brand-new gyms will provide Blink’s signature Feel Good Experience®Members will enjoy a contemporary and colorful design, elevated customer service, spotlessly clean facility, energizing music and confidence-boosting training programs—all while paying low-cost memberships, starting at just $15 per month.

Based in New York with additional locations in New Jersey, Philadelphia and now in Los Angeles, Blink has 60 gyms and more than 300,000 members. Blink’s goal is to reach 300 gyms in the next five years through corporate-owned expansion as well as franchise growth.

Chronicled Achieves 21 CFR Part 11 Certification for its Second-Generation Micro Temp-Logging Solution

0

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Chronicled, Inc. announced today that its second-generation temp-logging solution has been certified for Title 21 CFR Part 11, which is a U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulatory framework for the management and storage of electronic records and signatures.  This approval paves the way for Chronicled to assume a leadership position in providing its Temperature Loggers to businesses distributing sensitive, cold chain products across the United States and overseas.

21 CFR Part 11 “defines the criteria under which electronic records and electronic signatures are considered trustworthy, reliable, and equivalent to paper records.” The law requires FDA-regulated industries to implement controls that are capable of audits, validation, and digital signing and to provide documentation demonstrating that standard operating procedures and change management procedures are maintained.  With this certification complete, the Chronicled temperature monitoring solution is now ready for mainstream application in the highly regulated pharmaceutical cold chain environment.

The term cold chain, or temperature controlled logistics, refers to a temperature-sensitive supply chain, in which the products being shipped must be maintained within a specific temperature range.  The integrity of the cold chain is crucial to multiple sectors including pharmaceuticals, biologics, vaccines, as well as others.  If, for example, a pharmaceutical product exceeds its temperature limits, in what is known as a temperature excursion, the quality and efficacy of the drug can be severely impacted.  The result of a drug becoming adulterated by excessive temperatures can create pharmaceutical supply interruptions, and more importantly can impact the health and safety of many patients.

Since supply chains involve numerous independent custodians who are responsible for a product during a portion of its journey, it is essential to have a resilient, transparent, and trustworthy system for verifying that appropriate temperatures have been continuously maintained.

Chronicled’s second-generation temp-logger combines Near Field Communication (NFC) hardware with a secure cloud-based service, or optional blockchain back end, to ensure the highest level of data integrity currently available in the market.  This data storage method, in which each data point is recorded on-chain within an immutable “block”, makes the product’s temperature history 100% secure and untamperable.  As a result, regulators and end-customers no longer need to worry about edited, modified, or deleted records in the event of an investigation.

“We’re extremely gratified to achieve 21 CFR Part 11 certification,” said Chronicled CEO Ryan Orr.  “Our team has worked diligently and demonstrated the highest levels of software development capability.  This milestone is yet another step forward towards our vision of smart supply chain solutions with integrated IoT, AI, and blockchain technologies.”

“We’re seeing a lot of interest in our solution from major pharmaceutical companies, biotech manufacturers, and third-party logistics players, and I think that’s only going to increase with this certification,” said VP of Healthcare Sales, Ross Blum.  “The combination of our competitive price point, innovative hardware, and ultra-secure data back end makes us a very attractive option to the life science market.”  Chronicled is currently taking commercial orders for the temperature logging system.  Completion of 21 CFR Part 11 certification readies the company to assume market leadership in cold chain compliance.

“With this certification, Chronicled’s temperature data logger delivers an unrivalled product that combines a sensor with near field communication (NFC) and secure cloud software. We are thrilled that Chronicled’s software leverages Identiv’s NFC inlay technology and its associated security model,” said Stephane Ardiley, Identiv Director of Product Management. “Since Identiv began working on intelligent NFC devices, we have focused on delivering a trusted model for Internet of Things (IoT) applications — this accreditation is the result of that. We congratulate the Chronicled team on this major achievement to deliver a comprehensive sensor solution that meets the most stringent FDA requirements.”

In addition, Grupo Televisa will also acquire the rights to launch Mexican editions and publish content from Gizmodo Media’s category-leading sites, which include Deadspin (sports), Gizmodo (technology), Jalopnik (car culture), Jezebel (women’s interest), Kotaku (gaming), Earther and Project Earth (environment), and TrackRecord (music), among others.

“Our production and editorial teams produce content that connects with the young, diverse audiences that are shaping our future. This partnership with Televisa allows us to continue to extend the reach of our brands internationally, across platforms, and in multiple languages,” said Felipe Holguin, Chief Executive Officer of Fusion Media Group.

“From digital content to compelling long-form programming, Fusion Media Group has assembled a powerful collection of brands and a video library that connect with young audiences around the interests and issues they are passionate about. MCSO Immigration Stops and Detention Compensation Fund

0

RICHMOND, Virginia, Dec. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ – The following is being released by the Claims Administrator for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Immigration Stops and Detention Compensation Fund on behalf of Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (“MCSO”) and the American Civil Liberties Union (“ACLU”) of Arizona about the lawsuit Ortega Melendres v. Penzone (previously Arpaio), Case No.: CV-07-2513-PHX-GMS.

A federal court ordered Maricopa County to establish a $500,000 fund (the “Compensation Fund”) to pay people (“Victims”) who were stopped or held improperly by MCSO officers between December 23, 2011, and May 24, 2013, based on their suspected immigration status. Victims stopped or held improperly for more than 20 minutes will receive at least $500 and can receive up to $10,000 depending on how long they were stopped or held. Additionally, Victims can receive even more money if, because of their MCSO stop, they were also detained by federal authorities or suffered physical harm, severe emotional distress, or loss of wages or property. Lawful immigration status is not required to receive these payments.

The court ordered Maricopa County to create the Compensation Fund because it determined that MCSO violated a preliminary injunction that prohibited MCSO deputies from detaining a person solely on the basis that MCSO personnel believed the person was in the U.S. without authorization. A detention occurs whenever an individual is not free to leave law enforcement custody. Detention for the purposes of the Compensation Fund may include being transported in a motor vehicle by an MCSO deputy or other law enforcement officer, held at the side of the road by an MCSO deputy, or placed in a cell.

To receive payment, a Victim must file a complete and valid claim by December 3, 2018 and must agree to release any claims he or she may have resulting from the same detention.  Claims may be filed easily and quickly online at www.MaricopaSheriffCompensationFund.org or www.fondodecompensaciondelsheriffdemaricopa.org.

More information about the Compensation Fund is available at www.MaricopaSheriffCompensationFund.org or www.FondoDeCompensacionDelSheriffDeMaricopa.org and by calling 1-844-500-6327.
