The Second Hispanic Leadership Summit at United Nations, organized by the We Are All Human Foundation, Concludes with A Game Plan for Hispanics to Move the Needle in 2020

NEW YORK, Dec. 11, 2019 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — The second National Hispanic Leadership Summit at the United Nations concluded this week, acting as the culmination of We Are All Human Foundation’s (WAAH) regional summits and international events throughout the year. The goal was to report on findings and discuss the strategy for the Vision 2020: education, financial empowerment and perception change.

More than 500 leaders from the worlds of business, media, marketing and policy attended the summit, which was designed as a boardroom-style discussion to validate, update, and prioritize the key activities discussed in 2019 to finalize the creation of a game plan for the Hispanic community to move the needle in 2020.

“We must be the last generation that will ever face being invisible and not heard, not seen, not valued. We are the ones who have to open the door, so that our children can be the first generation of Hispanic stars, fully valued, fully paid, fully respected and recognized. The time has come. Throughout 2020, the Disneyland Resort will be the place for friends and families, little ones meeting Mickey Mouse for the first time, and experienced park-goers anticipating their next adventures. The year will kick off with the newest, and one of the most immersive attractions, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, launching in the new land of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park on Jan.17. At Disney California Adventure Park, the highly anticipated Avengers Campus opens in 2020, inviting guests of all ages into a new land where they will sling webs on the first Disney ride-through attraction to feature Spider-Man. The immersive land also presents multiple heroic encounters with Avengers like Iron Man, Black Widow and Black Panther. Avengers Campus will also feature Pym Test Kitchen, where guests will taste supersized and supershrunk foods from Pym Technologies. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance launches Jan. 17 in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park  

The newest attraction inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, launches at Disneyland on Jan. 17, 2020. The attraction opened Dec. 5, 2019, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of the most ambitious, advanced and immersive experiences ever undertaken by Walt Disney Imagineering. The innovative attraction takes guests aboard a full-size transport shuttle before they are captured by a Star Destroyer and find themselves in the middle of a climactic battle between the dark side of the First Order and the light side of the Resistance, including BB-8 and Rey. The harrowing adventure blurs the lines between fantasy and reality on a scale never seen before in a Disney attraction.

Guests will join the Resistance and depart from Batuu in a transport ship to meet General Leia Organa at a secret rendezvous point. However, on their way to the hidden base, guests are intercepted and detained by the First Order when their ship is drawn into the hangar bay of a Star Destroyer. The action then ramps up as guests seek to escape the clutches of the dark side with Kylo Ren and the First Order.

In 2020, guests of all ages will team up with some favorite Super Heroes at the Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure. The campus is set up by the Avengers to recruit the next generation of Super Heroes.

Avengers Campus will open the first Disney ride-through attraction to feature Spider-Man. Guests will enter this attraction at the Worldwide Engineering Brigade – also known as WEB.

During an open house at WEB, aspiring inventors will invite guests along for a test drive of their latest invention: the Web-Slinger vehicle. This new adventure will allow guests to sling webs just like Spider-Man, as they help Spider-Man collect Spider-Bots that have run amok across the campus.

Avengers Campus will also feature Pym Test Kitchen. Here, Ant-Man and The Wasp are using their growing and shrinking technology, Pym Particles, to create big and little foods at this eatery.

Throughout the campus, guests will find themselves face-to-face with legendary Super Heroes, in heroic encounters with Ant-Man and The Wasp, Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther and his elite guards, the Dora Milaje, Thor and Iron Man.

Generational Divide: Millennials, Gen Xers and Boomers Can Avoid Holiday Debt with this Advice

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, Dec. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — What do Millennials, Gen Xers and Baby Boomers have in common? Not much, except that they all rack up debt this time of year. With each generation having its unique financial issues, Consolidated Credit is offering specific advice.

When Debt is the Problem, We are the Solution...

Consolidated Credit analyzed four years of debt management program data and found that Millennial enrollments are at an all-time high and have an average of $13,000 of debt on their program. Although Gen X has the highest average debt load put on a program, Millennials surpass Baby Boomers as the second most enrolled generation.

With consumer credit card debt almost $1.5 trillion, Millennials are facing pressure to pamper their children while paying off student loans. Baby Boomers, who are in or headed towards retirement, make up 35 percent of their clients and have more than $15,500 of debt on their program. Leading the pack are the current ‘sandwich generation’.  Gen Xers enroll in the debt management program at the highest rate and have the highest debt load at over $16,000.

“It was said that Millennials aren’t using credit cards at the same pace as past generations, but they now make up a third of our clients base,” says April Parks-Lewis, Consolidated Credit’s education director. “Now that Millennials have grown-up and are starting families, they’re facing credit card debt in addition to high student loan debt.”

The holidays are the worst time for family budgets – but possibly the best time to create peace across generational lines. All members of the family can lend a hand in saving by tackling spending.

Holiday tips for the ages:

  • Millennials should give the gift of financial literacy. Steward the next generation by helping your kids understand the value of money and help them curb expectations this holiday.
  • Gen Xers, who do most of their holiday shopping online, need to comparison shop and consider giving gifts of “experiences’ – like group travel, cooking classes and other activities where family and friends can be together.
  • Baby Boomers should use tech to help them manage their finances. They need to use money-saving apps like camel-camel-camel, RetailMeNot, and interactive holiday budget planners.
