WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Aug. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — ClickSafety, a leading provider of online safety training for the construction and general industries, has launched Spanish language versions of its Respirable Crystalline Silica Awareness in Construction and Respirable Crystalline Silica in Construction for the Exposed Worker.
This new training, designed to educate Hispanic construction workers and leaders on OSHA’s recently updated Respirable Crystalline Silica standard, is the industry’s first Spanish language silica awareness training certified by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), the premier continuing education standards body.
“Studies show that approximately 30 percent of the construction workforce is comprised of Hispanic workers. For many of them, English is a second language,” said ClickSafety General Manager Doug Kaplan. “Offering safety training in Spanish is key to helping keep this segment of our workforce safe and aware of potential workplace hazards.”
ClickSafety’s awareness course is for workers with limited or potential exposure to silica and respirable crystalline silica dust. It identifies basic health hazards associated with exposure, evaluation and control techniques, and OSHA’s new requirements to protect workers.
Respirable Crystalline Silica in Construction for the Exposed Worker is for those who routinely work near, or are otherwise exposed to silica dust and/or respirable crystalline silica dust, and those who supervise them. It enables professionals to identify examples of potential exposure and the associated dangers, and learn safe practices and techniques to minimize risks.
Both English and Spanish versions of the courses are available immediately. For more information, call ClickSafety Support at 1.800.971.1080 ext. 2. or visit clicksafety.com.
