Brewer brings more than 25 years of financial and operational leadership to support Blue Shield’s affordability and healthcare transformation goals

OAKLAND, Calif., Oct. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Blue Shield of California today announced the appointment of Erin Brewer, strategic advisor, and former chief financial officer at Lyft, to its Board of Directors. Brewer brings more than two decades of leadership experience spanning finance, strategy, operations, and corporate governance across healthcare, technology, and financial services.

Since joining Lyft as chief financial officer in 2023, and in her current advisory role, Brewer has helped lead a significant financial transformation, including the company’s first full year of profitability. She has overseen global organizations spanning finance, investor relations, internal audit, corporate strategy, business development, and other key business functions. She previously held leadership positions at Charles Schwab, Atlassian, and McKesson Corporation.
