Zillow Offers Now Live in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale

MIAMI and SEATTLE, Aug. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Starting today, home sellers in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and other parts of South Florida can use Zillow Offers to request a no-obligation cash offer from Zillow to buy their home.

Zillow Offers is a new way to sell your home which reduces the stress that typically goes along with selling a home by eliminating home repairs, showings and uncertain timelines. If the seller accepts Zillow’s offer, they will choose their closing date and move on their schedule, between five and 90 days after acceptance. Zillow then prepares the home for sale and puts it on the open market.

If You Were Injured By A Malfunctioning Takata Airbag, You May Still Be Eligible For Compensation Through The Special Master’s And Trustee’s Claim Process For Personal Injuries Or Wrongful Death

BOSTON, Aug. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — The following statement is being issued by Professor Eric D. Green, Special Master for the Department of Justice’s Takata Airbag Individual Restitution Fund and Trustee of the Tort Compensation Trust Fund Created in the Takata Bankruptcy Cases.

Takata Defective Airbag Claims

Professor Eric D. Green, as Special Master and Trustee, announced a compensation program in May 2018 for individuals who have suffered or will suffer personal injury or wrongful death caused by the rupture or aggressive deployment of a Takata phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate airbag inflator (a “Takata Airbag Inflator Defect”).  Under that program, claimants may seek compensation from the Department of Justice’s $125 million Individual Restitution Fund (“IRF”) and/or the approximately $140 million Takata Airbag Tort Compensation Trust Fund (“TATCTF”). The claim process is ongoing and eligible claimants still have time to act.

There are three types of claims that can be brought by individuals who suffered injury or wrongful death caused by a Takata Airbag Inflator Defect: (i) an “IRF Claim” against Takata for compensation from the IRF, the personal injury and wrongful death restitution fund overseen by the Special Master and established under the Restitution Order entered by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan in connection with the Department of Justice’s criminal case against Takata, U.S. v. Takata Corporation, Case No. 16-cr-20810 (E.D. Mich.); (ii) a “Trust Claim” against Takata for compensation from the TATCTF, the personal injury and wrongful death trust fund overseen by the Trustee and established in connection with Takata’s Chapter 11 Plan of Reorganization in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, and (iii) a “POEM Claim” against a Participating Original Equipment Manufacturer (a “POEM;” presently the only POEM is Honda/Acura) for compensation from the POEM, which must be resolved through the TATCTF overseen by the Trustee.   

Each of these three types of claims has its own eligibility requirements; however, each claim type covers only physical injuries and wrongful death resulting from a Takata Airbag Inflator Defect. Claims related to injuries or wrongful death caused by other airbag components — such as airbag failure to deploy, spontaneous airbag deployment, crash injuries unrelated to the inflator, or economic losses unrelated to physical injuries or death — are not covered by the three types of claims described above.

Exterior and Interior Updates
Exterior styling refinements to the 2020 Civic Hatchback lineup include revised styling of the lower bumper fog light housings, which now feature a body-color crossbar. The Honda-signature “wing” grille crossbar is also updated, and the headlights now feature a sporty blackout treatment. In the rear, the lower bumper openings receive similar changes to the front, with a new body-color crossbar. All trims feature new wheel designs, in either dark gray or black. Sport Touring trims also benefit from improved LED headlights with wider and longer light beams.

Inside the 2020 Civic Hatchback, new dash trim differentiates various trim levels, with Sport trims receiving a new geometrical pattern, LX and EX a new painted pattern, and EX-L and Sport Touring an exclusive brushed black treatment. The EX trim also adds an 8-way power driver’s seat in place of manual adjustments, plus a new leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. Enhancements to technology and connectivity for MY19 included an updated Display Audio system on EX, EX-L and Sport Touring trims with physical buttons and a volume knob, improved voice recognition and Bluetooth® integration with easier device pairing, a USB sub-cord, upgraded steering wheel controls for simplified operation, and physical buttons for fan speed on models with dual-zone climate control. Other changes included a new center console cup holder that better holds larger beverages, and an updated electronic parking brake with an indicator light.

Sport and Sport Touring Trims
The Civic Hatchback Sport receives a host of changes for the 2020 model year. The upgraded 7-inch touchscreen Display Audio system with eight speakers (up from four) and Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration is now standard on Sport trims, along with Smart Start pushbutton ignition and Smart Entry keyless entry for improved ease of use. Sport trims equipped with the CVT also come with remote start for the first time. Additionally, Sport receives new seat upholstery unique to Sport trims, and a new embossed dash trim similar to what’s found on the Sport trim introduced last year for Civic Sedan. For the line-topping Sport Touring trim, buyers now have a choice of either CVT automatic or 6-speed manual transmissions, both of which remain available in the Sport trim. HomeLink® is also standard.
