MIAMI, May 13, 2015 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Amscot is set to celebrate the open house of its Miami branch at 6788 SW 40th Street on Saturday, May 16th from noon to 2 p.m. As part of the open house celebration, Amscot will be donating $500 to the Pace Center for Girls Miami, a non profit organization that provides a non-residential delinquency prevention program, targeting the unique needs of females aged 12 to 17 who are identified as dependent, truant, runaway, delinquent, or in need of academic skills. Their purpose is to intervene and prevent school withdrawal, juvenile delinquency, teen pregnancy, substance abuse and welfare dependency in a safe and nurturing environment.

In addition to supporting the Pace Center for Girls Miami, the open house event will also offer an array of activities for families. Everyone wins something when they spin our prize wheel, including a $100 Publix Gift Card for one lucky person!  Bike helmets will be given to the first 100 kids to arrive and there will be radio station giveaways from MY93.9 FM & Mega 94.9 FM as they broadcast live from Amscot’s parking lot. Free refreshments and lunch from Pollo Tropical will be provided and there will be giveaways from MetroPCS. An Amscot recruiter will be on hand to talk about the many exciting career opportunities available with Amscot.

“Through the years, Amscot has served countless Florida families with convenient financial services that help them get on with the business of life. When we hold events like this, it’s only natural that our focus on families and children remains front and center,” says Ian MacKechnie, Amscot’s Founder & CEO.

The Child Rescue Network will be on hand for a free kid’s fingerprinting program. Their Safety ID Program will weigh and measure kids, take a thumbprint and photograph and give parents a laminated Safety ID Card to put in their wallets. These valuable tools save lives and can help quickly reunite a lost child with his family.

All Amscot branches are open 365 days a year, providing convenient access to financial services. Amscot offers cash advances, check cashing, electronic bill payment, money transfer services, prepaid cards, notary services, ATMs, copying and faxing service. Additionally, a consumer can obtain money orders with no purchase fees – no other purchase is necessary for a customer to be able to purchase a money order for free.
