Future Toyota Adventure Concept (FT-AC) Takes Outdoor Fun to New Levels at 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Long live new adventures! With the Future Toyota Adventure Concept, or FT-AC, comes the ideal versatility for living an active lifestyle, allowing deeper exploration to take life’s journeys even further.  FT-AC is a catalyst – it’s both the invitation and the medium for breaking day-to-day routines and embracing the unexpected.

Future Toyota Adventure Concept (FT-AC) Takes Outdoor Fun to New Levels at 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show

It’s no coincidence then that FT-AC makes its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, in a city where much of the population escapes to the hills, deserts, or beaches for their much-needed weekend recharges after a long week of work.

“FT-AC is perfect for those outdoor enthusiasts who want to dial up the adventure on their weekend getaways,” said Jack Hollis, group vice president and general manager, Toyota division. “No matter the roads, the activities, or the people, FT-AC sparks authentic fun and conversation.”

Representing the next level in Toyota’s adventure-loving lineup of concept vehicles, FT-AC provides the right instrument for a wide mix of excursions, be they on paved roads or not.

Fun on the Journey

FT-AC reminds adventurers of all skill levels how remarkable the trip – not just the destination – can be. Going for a paddle on the river. Climbing a favorite rock face. Hitting a trail on a mountain bike. FT-AC is experience-centric. It compels. Any wheel time in FT-AC brings genuine facetime with the friends aboard.

It puts versatility at the forefront of its ethos and, in doing so, invites passengers to personalize – and accentuate – each trip. Acknowledging that adventures vary in scope and scale, FT-AC’s innate versatility is a strength that caters to various lifestyles, preferences, and even generations.

One-of-a-Kind Adventure

At first glance, it is evident that FT-AC’s bold and daring design reflects the confident spirit of Toyota’s existing SUVs and trucks.

The pronounced, wide, black front grille is flanked with bright LED headlights. Fog lights brighten the road ahead during foul weather or poor conditions and can even be taken out from their pods and used as portable lights. The fog lights can be attached to a mountain bike for occasional night rides. Below, FT-AC has twin hooks for vehicle recovery. Skid plates help protect the short front and rear overhangs, so rocks, ruts, and just about anything else will have trouble slowing down the rig.

FT-AC was designed around a long wheelbase and wide track to help emphasize its powerful stance. Extra wide fender flares provide body shielding and look as if they float above the 20-inch wheels and beefier all-terrain tires, both of which help accentuate its commanding look. Its impressive footwear and generous ground clearance provide drivers with more options as to where FT-AC can go and play.

The safari-style cargo roof rack system can haul all types of adventure gear. LED marker lights at its front corners can provide ambient lighting around the vehicle, brighten the trail ahead or, if desired, act as a flash for the side mirrors’ embedded cameras.

The infrared cameras on the side mirrors can record trail runs and, like the fog lights, can be removed and mounted off-vehicle so that no fun goes undocumented. An integrated Wi-Fi hotspot automatically uploads footage to cloud-based storage where real-time editing and posting can be accessed via mobile device. The Wi-Fi connectivity even gives adventure-goers the ability to livestream the fun to fans and followers.

The roof rack’s rear-facing LED lights also aid nighttime visibility and can be controlled via mobile device as well. Also at the rear is an innovative integrated bike rack that retracts, making for a highly useful feature that can be securely hidden in only a few seconds. Lastly, drivers and passengers can utilize FT-AC’s geolocation capabilities for directions back to basecamp.

FT-AC’s contrasting colors combine Prospect Green with Fortress Gray accents to highlight its go-anywhere brashness.

Envisioned Capabilities

Although currently a design experiment, FT-AC has been imagined as a thoroughly capable gasoline-powered vehicle with an advanced torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system. This enables power to be routed, as needed, for excellent controllability and maximum traction. Variable terrain-response settings and 4-wheel lock functionality build on its capability by managing traction control and throttle response to maximize grip at each wheel for a more dynamic driving experience.

And who says a hybrid vehicle can only play on pavement? FT-AC could offer a next-generation hybrid powertrain that blends fuel efficiency with rugged all-wheel-drive grunt, giving drivers better power, responsiveness, and impressive fuel economy – all without compromise.

Whitefish Energy Completes Work On Major Transmission Line That Should Bring Power To More Parts Of San Juan In Coming Days

0

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Nov. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Whitefish Energy today announced that its crews have completed their repair work on the important south-to-north 50900 transmission line on the island of Puerto Rico, allowing for the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) to soon deliver power to many of the neighborhoods in the greater San Juan metropolitan area that have been without electricity since Hurricane Maria hit the island on Sep. 20.

Line 50900 is a major artery of the Puerto Rico electrical grid, running from power generating stations in the southern part of the island, over The Central Range (La Cardillera Central) to the populated areas of the north, most notably greater San Juan.  The line was heavily damaged by Hurricane Maria and required major repairs and reconstruction of both transmission lines and towers.  Whitefish Energy has led a team of linemen, pilots and engineers to clear right-of-ways, assess damage, develop construction plans and airlift crews and equipment to restore its portion of the line that will bring more power to northern Puerto Rico.

“The completion of this work is a major milestone in the recovery efforts on Puerto Rico and it represents of collaborative effort across Whitefish Energy and a number of our subcontractor partners who have done some remarkable work under extreme and challenging conditions,” said Andy Techmanski, CEO of Whitefish Energy.  “With our transmission work now complete, PREPA will now take the final steps to verify switch and distribution capabilities so that electric power can be delivered to the residents and businesses in greater San Juan that have been without electricity for two months.”

Techmanski said that based on the amount of power that is generated from the south and the importance of the 50900 line, it is reasonable to assume that once PREPA completes its work, power generation and delivery on the island, which is currently at 61.6 percent, should be significantly higher and getting closer to the 95 percent goal for December 15 established by Governor Rosselló. “Our two months of work on the island has allowed the pace of power restoration to support the goals established by Governor Rosselló, and the great crews that have worked with us since October deserve tremendous credit for their dedication to this mission.”

Toyota Expanding Its Industry-Leading Safety Technology Package With Second Generation Toyota Safety Sense™

Toyota Pre-Collision System (updated) with enhanced deceleration capabilities and the ability to help detect a collision with a pedestrian in front of the vehicle during the day and at night, and bicyclist in front of the vehicle during the day.

PLANO, Texas, Nov. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Toyota Motor North America, Inc. (TMNA) today announced that the second generation of its Toyota Safety Sense™ (TSS) package of active safety features will begin rolling out as standard equipment on certain Toyota vehicles beginning in mid-2018.  The updated safety package will add new technologies and capabilities that enhance protection for drivers, passengers, and others who share the road, while helping to provide peace of mind in even more driving situations.

“At Toyota, we are committed to making high-level driver assistance systems more widely available and even more affordable across a broader range of our vehicles,” said Chris Nielsen, executive vice president of product support and chief quality officer of Toyota Motor North America. “The second generation of Toyota Safety Sense™ takes our industry-leading suite of safety technologies to the next level, delivering new advanced and intuitive protections that are another step toward a future without traffic injuries or fatalities.”

The second generation TSS reflects Toyota’s ongoing efforts to reduce the cost of advanced safety technologies and make them accessible to a wider range of new car buyers. The initial version of TSS, along with Lexus Safety System+ (LSS+), brought Toyota’s Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), and other advanced safety systems to more than five million Toyota and Lexus vehicles sold in North America, Japan, and Europe. By the end of 2017, TSS and LSS+ will be standard on almost every model in the Toyota and Lexus lineups.

As with the first generation TSS, the upgraded system is designed to support driver awareness, decision making and vehicle operation over a wide range of speeds under certain conditions. Packaged together into an integrated system, it helps to address three key areas of accident protection: preventing or mitigating frontal collisions, keeping drivers within their lanes, and enhancing road safety during nighttime driving.

The second generation TSS has been expanded to help improve driver situational awareness while providing additional protections for a pedestrian or bicyclist in front of the vehicle. New or updated technologies will include:

  • Pre-Collision System (updated) with enhanced deceleration capabilities and the ability to help detect a collision with a pedestrian in front of the vehicle during the day and at night, and bicyclist in front of the vehicle during the day.
  • Lane Departure Alert (updated) enhanced with “road edge detection” to increase the vehicle’s ability to help drivers stay in their lane
  • Road Sign Assist (new), which is designed to display road sign information in an easy-to-understand format on the dashboard meter display and Head-Up Display if equipped. The vehicle’s onboard camera can detect and recognize certain common road signs in the U.S., Japan and Europe (road sign type varies by market).
  • Lane Tracing Assist (new), which provides steering support to help the driver keep the vehicle centered in its lane when Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is in operation.
  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (updated) with enhanced forward recognition and acceleration/deceleration performance across a wide range of speeds. (Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control not available on vehicles equipped with manual transmissions)

With the introduction of second generation TSS beginning in mid-2018, the list of Toyota Safety Sense™ packages in the United States is as follows:

TSS-C (Certain current models)

TSS-P (Certain current models)

TSS (Beginning mid-2018 in
certain models)

  • Pre-Collision System
  • Lane Departure Alert
  • Auto High Beams
  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection function
  • Lane Departure Alert (available with Steering Assist function on certain models)
  • Auto High Beams
  • Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (Full-Speed Range available on certain models)
  • Pre-Collision System with Day/Night Pedestrian Detection function and Day Bicycle Detection function
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
  • Lane Tracing Assist
  • Road Sign Assist
  • Auto High Beams
  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (excluding manual transmission vehicles) with enhanced forward recognition and acceleration/deceleration

Toyota plans to continue expanding the capabilities of Toyota Safety Sense™ with a broader range of automated safety systems and technology as research and development progresses. This proven approach to technology development helps speed the introduction of advanced systems designed to help improve safety, reduce accidents and ease traffic congestion.

Adventurers Get More Cargo Space with Lexus’ New Two-Row Version of LX 570

0
Until now, the LX has been offered exclusively as a three-row luxury utility vehicle with seating for up to eight. Less will certainly mean more to some Lexus LX 570 customers for 2018, as the brand augments the traditional three-row model with a new two-row version designed to carry more cargo for any adventure while pampering five people onboard.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Less will certainly mean more to some Lexus LX 570 customers for 2018, as the brand augments the traditional three-row model with a new two-row version designed to carry more cargo for any adventure while pampering five people onboard. With a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $84,980*, a new mono-spec trim level gives customers added value and the luxury of simply choosing exterior and interior colors.

For more than two decades, the full-capability Lexus LX has excelled at combining authentic, rugged go-anywhere capability and high towing capacity with the brand’s renowned luxury and smooth on-road demeanor. Until now, the LX has been offered exclusively as a three-row luxury utility vehicle with seating for up to eight. When some customers indicated they did not use the third row and expressed a preference for more interior cargo space, Lexus responded.

Such customers, including smaller families, empty nesters and multiple-vehicle households, are more likely to travel with fewer passengers but more carry-on gear. Among the activities they enjoy are skiing, cycling, kayaking and golf, along with such hobbies as nature photography and antique collecting. Some also wanted more versatility for carrying their dogs.

Without the third row seat, the new LX 570 two-row model offers 50.5 cu. ft. of carrying space behind the middle row, versus 44.7 cu. ft. for the three-row model. For added versatility, the LX 570 two-row features a standard roof rack with rails.

One Comprehensive Trim Level

Lexus will offer the new 2018 LX 570 two-row model in a mono-spec trim level, a change that enhances customer value by making ordering a vehicle as easy as choosing the exterior and interior colors. The two-row model features the same standard luxury equipment as in the three-row model, including leather-trimmed interior, four-zone automatic climate control, power tailgate, moonroof and 20-inch wheels.

Standard Intuitive Park Assist and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert helps to enhance visibility in a variety of situations where the driver might not be able to see potential hazards. The standard Panoramic View Monitor gives the driver “extra eyes” where it’s impossible to see, viewing the surrounding terrain when off-roading and helping view the area around the vehicle (sides, front and rear) when maneuvering in tight spaces. The camera projects the image to the 12.3-inch Navigation screen, which can show several view combinations to help aid the driver. The system makes an invaluable assistant when hitching and maneuvering a trailer.

With Lexus Enform Remote (complimentary for the first year of ownership), the LX 570 owner can remotely view and control certain aspects of the vehicle using a mobile app for iOS and Android devices. The app can lock or unlock the doors, remote-start or stop the engine or climate control, locate the vehicle in a parking lot, set up guest driver monitor and more.

For peace of mind on every drive, Lexus Enform Safety Connect (complimentary for the first 10 years of ownership) provides emergency calling capability to Lexus Enform response centers, which are available 24/7/365. Lexus Service Connect (complimentary for the first 10 years of ownership) can relay the vehicle’s service needs, allowing the customer set up push reminders and alerts.

The standard subscription-free Lexus Enform App Suite provides voice-enabled apps that let you search the internet for local listings, stream music, check fuel prices and much more. Lexus Enform Destination Assist (complimentary for the first year of ownership) offers convenient 24-hour access to live destination assist.

Powerful Style, Powerful Performance

In all other respects, the 2018 Lexus LX 570 two-row remains the same stylish, highly capable, impeccably luxurious SUV as its three-row sibling. Wearing the bold Lexus signature spindle grille that’s framed by elegant satin chrome trim and flanked by triple-beam LED headlamps, the LX 570 makes an unforgettable entrance in any setting. A three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel is a classic touch. Modern meets timeless in the analog clock, which sits in a housing carved from a single ingot of aluminum and featuring LED indicators. GPS functionality adjusts the time zone.

The LX 570 can also make an unforgettable exit, too, thanks to a 5.7-liter V8 engine that produces 383 horsepower and 403 lb.-ft. of peak torque. The 8-speed automatic transmission shifts with famous Lexus refinement. This is a hard-working team, helping to equip the LX 570 with a 7,000 lb. towing capacity using the standard integrated tow hitch receiver. Critically, the powerhouse V8 produces 90 percent of its peak torque at a low 2,200 rpm, further burnishing the vehicle’s towing capability.

The LX 570 also gives the driver the luxury of prioritizing comfort or agility simply by turning the Drive Mode Select dial on the center console. The system settings affect powertrain and suspension responses, including the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS), which continually adjusts shock absorber damping rates while driving, ensuring optimal comfort even as the road surface changes.

Standard Lexus Safety System+

The 2018 LX 570 two-row features the same safety technology as the three-row model, including 10 airbags and the Lexus Safety System+ with Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Intelligent High-Beam headlamps and All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. The latter uses a combination of millimeter-wave radar and a front-facing camera to maintain a preset distance from a vehicle traveling ahead. PCS is designed to warn the driver of a possible collision and is designed to initiate automatic braking with Brake Assist if necessary.

LDA uses a camera to monitor visible lane markings, and if it senses the vehicle is drifting from the lane, it is designed to convey audio-visual alerts and vibrate the steering wheel to attract the driver’s attention. IHB adjusts high-and low-beam illumination automatically when it detects oncoming traffic or the taillights of a vehicle traveling in front.

Ready for Anything

Incorporating decades of expertise in full-capability chassis engineering, the Lexus LX 570 is built by attaching a robust welded unitized body to a separate box-section ladder frame. This construction allows the LX 570 to take a pounding off-road and yet also sets the foundation for a poised and smooth on-pavement ride. A Torsen® limited-slip locking center differential provides full-time four-wheel drive, splitting torque 40:60 under normal driving conditions. The differential responds on the move to changing conditions, automatically adjusting the torque distribution as necessary. For driving over challenging off-road surfaces, the driver can lock the center differential.

The four-wheel Active Traction Control system (A-TRAC) helps to control wheel slip, and, using the Multi-Terrain Select system, the driver can match A-TRAC’s performance to the prevailing conditions. Selectable modes include Rock, Rock and Dirt, Mogul, Loose Rock, and Mud and Sand. The transmission’s driver-selectable low range provides low-speed crawling capability for handling steep off-road hills and uneven terrain. Low-range capability gets support from Crawl Control with Turn Assist, Hill-start Assist Control and Variable Gear Ratio Steering.

Multimedia Maven

The LX 570 is an ideal vehicle for getting away from it all while still remaining informed, entertained and connected. A 12.3-inch display with Remote Touch Interface heads a list of multimedia and connectivity features. Navigation offers full-screen map capability and can be split into three sections to display different functions, such as navigation, audio and climate control information.

The Remote Touch Interface controller operates climate control, audio, phone, navigation and more. iPhone® users enjoy the convenience of using Siri® Eyes Free Mode, which enables song selection from iTunes®, provides turn-by-turn navigation through Apple Maps, and much more. No matter the source or genre, music will sound powerful and clean through the standard nine-speaker Lexus Premium Audio system. Play from iPod®/USB connectivity, HD Radio with iTunes® tagging, streamed music via Bluetooth® and, yes, even CDs.

Lexus RX Drivers Now Have the Power of Three (Rows)

0
Lexus drivers will now have the option of a third row without compromising the sleek styling and easy maneuverability that they have long valued of the RX. Access to the third row is made easy with the touch of a lever that slides and folds the second seat forward. The available six-seat configuration features second-row captain’s chairs that make third-row ingress/egress easier with “walk-in” convenience in the RX L.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Families will now be able to enjoy more space with their luxury utility vehicle thanks to the new three-row Lexus RX L models. The RX created the luxury crossover segment 20 years ago and has reigned supreme as the most popular luxury utility vehicle on the market. The 2018 RX 350L and RX 450hL models retain their stylish figures, but now offer the choice of six or seven-passenger capability.

Once in dealerships, the RX 350L will have a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $47,670* (FWD) and $49,070* (AWD).

Function and Fashion

With the new RX L models, Lexus drivers will now have the option of a third row without compromising the sleek styling and easy maneuverability that they have long valued. With help through the mastery of vehicle packaging, Lexus extended the body length 4.3 inches (110 mm) at the rear and used a steeper tailgate window angle than on the two-row models – ensuring good headroom for third-row passengers.

The standard seven-seat version uses a 40/20/40 split bench-type second row seat. Access to the third row is made easy with the touch of a lever that slides and folds the second seat forward. The available six-seat configuration features second-row captain’s chairs that make third-row ingress/egress easier with “walk-in” convenience.

Lexus designed the third row of the RX L models to offer the same comfort and luxury as in the middle row. The positioning of the second row is slightly higher than the third row, creating more foot room for rear passengers. Standard leather-trimmed upholstery is standard for the first and second rows, in the choice of Black, Stratus Gray, Parchment or Noble Brown. A tri-zone climate control system gives third-row passengers separate heating and air conditioning vents, and for convenience, a power-folding third-row seat and power tailgate are both standard on the RX L models.

Details that enhance three-row versatility in the RX L models include a flat load floor behind the folded third-row, two third-row cupholders, an easily stowable tonneau and covered slide rails.

Lexus Signature Design

The 2018 RX L models offer the same award-winning safety, style, luxury and performance as the two-row versions. The LUV trend-setting combination of SUV versatility and luxury sedan-like comfort comes packaged in the brand’s dramatic mix of sharp creases and curves. The Lexus signature spindle grille, a focal point, is set off by an elegant chrome-plated surround and standard Bi-LED headlights. Available premium LED headlights use three unique L-shaped elements per side.

The RX L models’ elegantly blacked-out C-pillars create a floating-roof effect. The spindle theme repeats at the rear, with L-shaped LED taillights enveloping the tailgate and wrapping into the rear fenders. Available 20-inch wheel designs enhance the powerful-looking stance. All ten RX L paint colors feature a scratch-resistant self-restoring coat, using a high-performance macromolecular polymer.

Lexus Safety

In the 2018 RX L models, the full-length side curtain airbags cover all three rows. The standard Lexus Safety System+ includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Keep Assist, Intelligent High Beams and All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Blind Spot Monitor with Intuitive Parking Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Braking are also available. Panoramic View Monitor is an optional feature.

RX 350L: 290-Horsepower V6

The 2018 Lexus RX 350L offers plenty of power to go with its six- or seven- passenger cabin and added cargo capacity. The 3.5-liter V6 employs the advanced D-4S fuel injection system, which combines direct and port fuel injection systems. To maximize efficiency, Variable Valve Timing – Intelligent Wide (VVT-iW) is used on the intake camshaft, along with VVT-i on the exhaust camshaft, allowing the engine to switch between Otto and Atkinson combustion cycles.

The result is 290 hp and 263 lb.-ft. of torque, with performance and efficiency optimized by an eight-speed automatic transmission. Use of regular-grade gasoline is a boon to customer value. Using Drive Mode Select, the RX 350L driver can exert more control by choosing from among three driving modes. Normal provides an ideal everyday balance of performance and energy conservation, Sport puts an edge on powertrain responsiveness and Eco mode operates the powertrain at its most efficient level.

As on the two-row RX 350, the RX 350L is available with front-wheel drive or available Dynamic Torque Control All Wheel Drive. Under normal cruising conditions, the system engages front-wheel drive to help reduce fuel consumption.

Continuously taking input from various sensors (such as wheel speed, engine RPM, steering angle, throttle opening angle and yaw rate), Dynamic Torque Control AWD actively governs torque distribution to the rear wheels using an electromagnetically controlled coupling in the rear differential. When the vehicle is accelerating, the system automatically shifts to AWD to help prevent front-wheel slippage. While cruising, the system reverts to FWD, and when sensors detect wheel slippage, it can vary front to rear torque distribution from 100:0 to 50:50. The 4.2″ TFT multi-information display conveys torque-distribution status (front to rear, and side to side).

RX 450hL Hybrid with AWD

Luxury buyers seeking an eco-advanced family three-row vehicle will find the ideal travel mate in the 2018 Lexus RX 450hL. The Lexus Hybrid Drive system pairs the D4-S injection 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine with two high-torque electric drive motor-generators, producing 308 combined system horsepower for strong acceleration and passing performance.

The standard AWD system is unique. Instead of transfer gears and a driveshaft to the rear wheels used on the RX 350 AWD models, an independent rear-mounted electric motor drives the rear wheels when needed to help maintain optimal traction.

In the RX 450hL, the Drive Mode Select system adds a fourth mode, EV, that enables the vehicle to drive under electric power at lower speeds for short distances. It’s an excellent way to navigate a large parking lot or garage, or to run a local errand.

Ride and Handling

All onboard the 6- or 7-passenger 2018 Lexus RX L models will experience the same luxuriously smooth, quiet ride as the two-row models offer. Front strut and rear double-wishbone type suspension systems ensure agility and exemplary ride compliance over all types of surfaces. Electric Power Steering (EPS) yields a light and comfortable steering feel with excellent feedback.

Impeccable Cabin Design and Luxury

The RX L cabin is designed with impeccable details, including form-fitting seats, and the available richly finished wood trim (Premium and Luxury Packages) that curves gently up from the center console toward the glove box.

Available interior ornamentation includes Matte Bamboo, Espresso Walnut, Matte Linear Dark Mocha Wood, Striated Black Trim (standard) and laser-etched Gray Sapele Wood with Aluminum. For the Striated Black Trim on the base model, a glossy black three-dimensional embossed pattern is applied to create a high-quality film design with a sense of depth.

An available full-color Heads-Up Display (HUD) incorporated into the design of the instrument panel can project key information on the windshield to help the driver focus on the road.

Multimedia Powerhouse

From powerful audio to cutting-edge displays, the multimedia choices available for the 2018 Lexus RX L models cover all needs. The standard Display Audio system includes an eight-inch screen, HD Radio™, Scout GPS Link, Bluetooth® audio, voice recognition, an AUX mini jack, two USB ports and nine speakers. The driver will find frequently used switches placed close at hand for convenience. Middle-row USB ports enable passengers to use and charge their own multimedia devices.

The Navigation Package upgrades to a 12-speaker premium audio system. Also included, the 12.3-inch high-resolution split-screen multimedia display offers a full-screen navigation map or can provide simultaneous access to audio or climate controls and various systems; as well as the mouse-like Remote Touch Interface.

The 2018 RX L models offer audiophile-quality mobile sound with the available 835-watt, 15-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround System in conjunction with the navigation system. Advanced Clari-Fi™ compressed music restoration technology instills new life into digital music files.

The new three-row RX L models join the two-row, five-seat RX versions that continue for 2018. All RX models now offer Enform Safety Connect and Enform Service Connect complimentary for the first 10 years of vehicle ownership. Both were previously offered with a one-year trial.

With the new RX 450hL Hybrid, the most powerful and most fuel-efficient RX model, owners will still reap the benefits of the two-row model, such as optional heated/ventilated front seats and Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Lima served in several key positions during her tenure with Verizon Communications that made her an ideal candidate for this role.  Recently, as Global Diversity and Inclusion Director, she oversaw a multimillion dollar budget and partnered with the Verizon Foundation to help increase the Foundation’s focus on diverse and underrepresented communities.  Previously, while serving as External and Government Affairs Director she managed and invested nearly $9 million in annual charitable giving and played a key role in developing strong relationships with minority organizations and leaders.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue the growth and expansion of the Foundation and its many programs and services,” said Lima. “I have long admired the Foundation and its accomplishments.  It is an honor to lead the efforts of an organization that champions Hispanic businesses and entrepreneurs.”

Lima’s primary focus is to ensure that the Foundation continues supporting the next generation of Hispanic businesses and entrepreneurs. To this extent, Lima has been working with the Foundation’s board to put processes and a transition plan in place and coordinating with staff from the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on the plan.  Lima is also working with the board and leading the search committee to find a permanent Executive Director for the Foundation.

Lima holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management.
