Raul “Ruly” Toraño
Raul is considered by many to be the godfather of Spanish-language television. A Cuban immigrant, Raul launched a successful career in television advertising & marketing in the 1960’s that spanned four decades. A pioneer in his field, Raul was a driving force in raising awareness among Fortune 500 companies on the need to allocate a greater percentage of their advertising budget to the growing U.S. Hispanic population. He began his career working at the Spanish Advertising and Marketing Services in New York City with the Diaz-Albertini brothers. In 1984, he joined Spanish International Network (SIN), the first non- English-language television network in the United States, which was later renamed to Univision Network in 1987. During the 1990’s, he held various executive positions in the sales and marketing departments at Univision culminating with his being named President of Network Sales. Memory Care Program for Alzheimer’s and Dementia Opens New Wing

FDA Investigates Findings of Hepatitis A Linked to Frozen Tuna

On May 18, Hilo Fish Company began recalling tuna sourced from Sustainable Seafood Company and Santa Cruz Seafood, Inc. that tested positive for the hepatitis A virus. The current recall resulted from follow-up after the Hawaii Department of Health notified the FDA of a frozen tuna sample, sourced from PT Deho Canning Co., which tested positive for hepatitis A on May 1, 2017. The initially recalled product has been removed from circulation and the newly recalled frozen tuna lots were not shipped to Hawaii, but were shipped to the mainland U.S.

The CDC is not currently aware of any illnesses linked to these products, however it is advising post exposure prophylaxis (PEP) for unvaccinated persons who may have consumed the potentially contaminated tuna within the past two weeks.

The FDA is providing a list of establishments in TX, OK, and CA that may currently have potentially contaminated tuna in commerce to help alert consumers that may be at risk of the hepatitis A virus. Contact your health care professional if you believe you have been exposed to contaminated tuna.

Contact your healthcare professional if you think you may have become ill from eating tuna, or if you believe that you have eaten any of the recalled frozen tuna within the last two weeks. Honda Sweeps Opening Race in Detroit

DETROIT, June 3, 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Starting from the pole, Graham Rahal dominated Saturday’s opening Verizon IndyCar Series race of a double header weekend in Detroit, leading virtually from flag-to-flag and spearheading a 1-2-3 Honda sweep at the Belle Isle Park temporary street circuit.

Rahal drove a flawless race – leading 55 of 70 laps, making his Rahal Letterman Lanigan team’s two-stop pit strategy work perfectly and beating fellow Honda driver Scott Dixon to the checkered flag by six seconds in the first of the annual doubleheader at Belle Isle.

With the win, Rahal scored his first IndyCar victory since Texas, in August of last season, and joined his father, team co-owner Bobby Rahal, as a Detroit winner.  The senior Rahal won here in 1992.

Dixon, less than a week removed from his massive crash during the Indianapolis 500, overcame pain from a left ankle injury sustained in the accident to finish second.  Dixon started sixth and, like Rahal, matched a two-stop strategy and superior pace to take over the drivers’ championship points lead heading into Sunday’s second race of the weekend.

Despite an opening-lap spin, James Hinchcliffe also had the pace to make a three-stop strategy work well, recovering from that early drama to finish third for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports and completing the podium sweep for Honda.

Behind the lead trio, Alexander Rossi took the checkers in fifth for Andretti Autosports, with Mikhail Aleshin completing a positive day for Schmidt Peterson with a sixth-place result.  Indy 500 winner Takuma Sato completed today’s 70-lap race in eighth, just ahead of top rookie finisher, Ed Jones, in ninth with his Dale Coyne Racing Honda.

I’m definitely going to go back to my [motorhome] and put my foot in a big bucket of ice, and see if I can cool it off. Hopefully, we’ll get some good rest tonight, as obviously qualifying tomorrow is going to be key for the race [on Sunday]. So we’ve got to come out blazing. We’ve definitely got to improve the car; it’s not perfect right now.”

James Hinchcliffe (#5 Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Honda) started 5th, finished 3rd: “Tires are the name of the game here. To be able to get off the [softer, alternative] reds after the spin in the first turn there, played to our advantage. And then we got that yellow at the right time, right after our pit stop. Armenia commits to significantly boosting foreign direct investments

In the main event of a 10-bout affair that takes place at Mana Wynwood, the two premier, pound-for-pound fighters from rival cities in SpainAbner “Skullman” Lloveras (20-9-1) of Barcelona and Javier Fuentes (9-4) of Madrid – will face off two days before the El Clasico Miami, a meeting between global soccer powers Real Madrid and FC Barcelona at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. The match, which marks the clubs’ first meeting in North America and the first outside of Spain since 1982, is part of the International Champions Cup presented by Heineken.

The “Combate Clasico” live MMA event will be part of a nearly week-long extravaganza that will begin with a match between marquee soccer clubs Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain at Hard Rock Stadium on July 26 as well as concerts, parties and other interactive events prior to El Clasico Miami on July 29.

The pride of Barcelona, the 34-year-old Lloveras is a 2010 Spanish Olympic boxing tournament Gold Medalist, three-time national boxing champion and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt.

The 27-year-old Fuentes is an aggressive-minded and fast-paced competitor who has earned all of his professional career victories to date by way of (T)KO or submission.
