LAGUNA HILLS, California, May 22, 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — With many of its member homeowners associations eager to hire, the California Association of Community Managers (CACM) is widening its search for men and women from all walks of life who are suited for the opportunity.

CACM has laid out a three-step process: 1) Interested people are invited to click on an introductory video: SurveyAnyplace.com/s/newcareer. 2) From there, candidates may take a free online career assessment designed to quickly identify who might be a good fit. 3) CACM will forward promising candidates to executives at companies seeking managers for communities and homeowners associations.

With this coordinated outreach program — the first of its kind by CACM — the organization’s leaders hope to raise the profile of the industry and catch the eye of a range of applicants — from people just starting out, to seasoned professionals considering a career transition.

“We’re looking for people who are ready for a change and want to love what they do for a living,” said David Zepponi, president and CEO of CACM. “Our goal is to introduce our profession to a broad audience. We want to give Californians a peek at what it’s like to be a community manager — and the skills and personality it takes. CACM has members in the industry who are ready to hire.”

California has more than 52,000 community and homeowners associations — serving condos, high-rises, gated communities and mixed-use projects blending residential and commercial units. The CACM video makes the case that versatility is a virtue for a community manager. Executives want to meet candidates with leadership, communication and people skills, paired with the creativity, empathy and intuition necessary to mediate conflict, build relationships and serve neighborhoods and communities.

“What I enjoy about the video is that these are not actors,” Zepponi said. “You meet an impressive bunch of California community managers, learn what they do, and quickly understand how their diverse personal and career backgrounds help them bring people together and improve lives in communities where they work.”

Zepponi said he hopes career counselors, college advisers and current industry professionals will encourage individuals they think might have an interest to click on SurveyAnyplace.com/s/newcareer and start the process.
