Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of the most ambitious, advanced and immersive experiences ever undertaken by Walt Disney Imagineering. The innovative attraction takes guests aboard a full-size transport shuttle before they are captured by a Star Destroyer and find themselves in the middle of a climactic battle between the dark side of the First Order and the light side of the Resistance, including BB-8 and Rey. The adventure blurs the lines between fantasy and reality on a scale never seen before in a Disney attraction. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance brings guests face to face with some fan favorite Star Wars characters, including Resistance heroes Rey, BB-8, Poe and Finn, as well as Kylo Ren and General Hux of the First Order.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened at Disneyland on May 31, 2019. The epic new land is the largest and most technologically advanced single-themed land expansion ever in a Disney park. Guests are transported to a galaxy far, far away in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, to Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu, a new location in the story that began in 1977 with the first Star Wars film. Guests become part of the story as they sample galactic food and beverages, enter an intriguing collection of merchant shops and take the controls of the most famous ship in the galaxy aboard another attraction in the land, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

  • Lunar New Year: The joyous Lunar New Year celebration commemorates the Year of the Mouse at Disney California Adventure, Jan. 17 through Feb. 9. Guests can ring in 2020 with multicultural performances including “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession,” fun-filled activities such as a stroll beneath ornamental lanterns at the Lucky Wishing Wall, plus innovative Asian cuisine and themed merchandise inspired by Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures. VISALIA, California, Jan. 7, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — The book Poemas Para Siempre was created by Mayra López. Mayra López is an author born in Michoacán Mexico. She then arrived in the United States and continued studying in the city of Visalia, California, where she still resides.

Mayra López said this about her book: “In this book of poetry you will find poems that will make you feel every feeling in full bloom. Others will simply put you to think about life as a whole. When you read them, you will feel connected because we have all felt in some way toward this world, toward some people, and everything around us. Simple poetry with a lot of lucidity that you will like to read more than once, which will make you feel that there is always someone else who thinks and feels like you. A small book with big words which, if you pay attention, will delicately wrap you in my world. In each poem, you will live a story, you will feel each feeling as your own, and you will understand that we are not so different when we put aside our complexes when we expose our deepest feelings and display our dreams and our desires. You will remember how fragile we are under certain circumstances that we are discovering along the way, that fate is teaching us and from which we are learning. Poetry is a beautiful freedom of expression, it is being able to put oneself in the place of the other and let feelings flow with words that silence the heart, but from another point of view, from another perspective. Here are some examples of this and my own story here. Poems Forever, a book of poems, thoughts, and something else.”

Published by Page Publishing, Mayra López’s new book Poemas Para Siempre will grace readers with heartwarming insights etched within poems that reflect a blossoming life.

Consumers who wish to partake of the blessedness of this poetic work can purchase Poemas Para Siempre in any bookstore, or online at Apple iTunes, Amazon.com, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

Medicinal Genomics Partners with Analogic Solutions for Distribution of its Cannabis Genomic Breeding, Optimization, and Testing Platform to the Caribbean

BEVERLY, Mass., Jan. 6, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Medicinal Genomics Corp. (MGC), a pioneer in genomics and blockchain technology to improve the yield, safety, and transparency of cannabis, today announced its partnership with Analogic Solutions as its distributor of record for the Caribbean region. Analogic is headquartered in Trinidad and is at the forefront of supplying the latest cannabis breeding and testing technology to the up-and-coming industry throughout the islands.

Following Jamaica’s lead, many other Caribbean nations, including Trinidad, are also implementing decriminalization reforms and establishing medical and adult use cannabis programs. But just as in many other global nascent markets, including the U.S., regulations lag advances made by science and technology.

“Education is critical to the acceleration of our learning curve,” said Lorca Gatcliffe-Farah, Analogic Solutions’ CEO. “We chose MGC because their technology is the most advanced and also because of the human energy that they bring to their relationships. This is a valuable element to us. MGC goes beyond technological rigidity and the predictions of future growth, instead, they are always conscientious of the impact that our collective efforts are having on people’s lives. Our in-house expertise with Genomics coupled with our intent to develop the Caribbean region created the right environment for this partnership to flourish.”

“Unlike many local firms, Analogic has a global perspective on the industry, and as such, are advocates for more education and the latest methods for economically producing clean and consistent products—not simply because regulations mandate it, but because that’s one of the prerequisites for a thriving medical market,” said Brendan McKernan, CEO of Medicinal Genomics. “They also recognize that a lack of regulation supports a thriving illegal market, and how products that are certified to be safe and consistent are the ultimate differentiator, particularly when people’s lives are at risk. Everything about Analogic Solutions makes them the right partner for us.”

Given the ideal growing conditions and abundance of heritage cultivars in the Caribbean, all predictors point to robust growth for the region, which Analogic Solutions is fully intending to capitalize on. “Given the scale of some of our customers’ operations, we quickly realized that we had to offer a full testing and breeding solution,” Gatcliffe-Farah said. “Our customers are importing experts from around the world, and we see the value in improving our offerings and staff to locally achieve the same results.”

About Analogic Solutions
Analogic Solutions is a Trinidad and Tobago based Company who has been the sole distributer within the Caribbean region for Agilent Technologies’ Genomics, Life Sciences and Chemical Analysis Products Group (formerly Hewlett Packard) since 1998. The Company grew from having two employees at the start to now having three departments consisting of fifteen employees and four support service providers, all involved in the continuous and systematic supply and service of Precision Life Sciences Solutions to our customers within the Caribbean region.  Analogic has also partnered with a host of specialized and reputable Chemical Analysis Solutions Providers in order to meet the goal of giving our customers access to the very best tools, supplies and technological support for their business operations. Recently the Company established a Branch Office in Jamaica which is a part of the continuous development plans that is being pursued for the year 2020 and beyond.

The Caribbean’s First Non-Profit Investigative News Network Launches

0
CIJN_Logo

KINGSTON, Jamaica, Jan. 6, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — The Caribbean Investigative Journalism Network (CIJN) just launched with the unveiling of four deep dive exposés produced by over a dozen Caribbean journalists. CIJN is a project of the Media Institute of the Caribbean (MIC) which is headquartered in Kingston, Jamaica.

The four long-form multimedia investigative stories were led by former Los Angeles Times publisher and editor, Davan Maharaj; former CNN anchor and correspondent, Jim Clancy; senior Caribbean journalist, Wesley Gibbings; and Caribbean-based media executive, Kiran Maharaj.

Maharaj, President of MIC and Co-founder of CIJN, said the CIJN initiative was meant to “create space for our Caribbean region on the global map of quality investigative reporting…. in small island nations we are straddled with the constraints of lack of resources, and the constant fear that our identities will be known and our lives at risk.”

The ISIS story reveals a trail of activities related to the recruitment of Islamist militants by a network of organizations in the twin-island state.

Human Trafficking in Plain Sight explores the sordid realities of human trafficking arising out of the turmoil in Venezuela. The existence of criminal networks working in tandem with corrupt police, immigration authorities and businesses is investigated in harrowing detail.

The team’s investigation of heavy Chinese investments in the Caribbean traces the growing influence of the Asian economic giant on regional development. Using supporting data, the story examines the impact of opaque investments in Caribbean mega-projects on a legacy of debt and geo-political influence in the Americas.

CIJN reviews the ill-fated PetroCaribe energy deals with the Caribbean; unravelling details on how an oil alliance founded by Chavez to confront U.S. influence in the Caribbean collapsed into broken deals, dashed hopes and rampant corruption.

Speaking at the launch, Jamaica correspondent, Steffon Campbell, said he saw the regional network of investigative journalists as being capable of seeing “the bigger picture; a regional picture; a transnational picture.”

MIC is a member of the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN), Global Forum for Media Development (GMFD), Institute for Non-Profit News (INN) and the International Press Institute (IPI). Its Advisory Board comprises leading media leaders, journalists and media development players from North America, Europe and the Caribbean.

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 6, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — The book Isla de la Esperanza was created by Ramon “Monsho” Hernandez, he shares: “She left her adolescence and entered the youth in an unexpected way, seeing herself surrounded by loneliness, waiting for her pregnancy to arrive in an uncomplicated way.

The first year, he survived with abandoned food, lots of water and canned food, lacking electricity, gas, and drinking water. Instead, a source of clear and pure water flowed from the very bowels of the extinct volcano that was the island.

Finding a way to be self-sufficient, producing food in places previously designed for that purpose, and discovering magical places, he found peace, tranquility, and hope necessary to continue waiting for the day of rescue.

Four years after the arrival, a visitor arrives, who was a companion of tragedy in that fateful airplane. He promises to expose his own life in exchange for taking her out of that wonderful place that, although a prison, was a magical, mystical, and very real place as unreal.

When the rescue arrives, he realizes that it will be somewhat difficult for his son, who was born with a deficiency. That way, he experiences a difficult reality until he reaches his hometown. Everything is clarified, and as the inevitable hour of his son approaches, he realizes the mystery by which he managed to survive all that time on the island of hope.”

Published by Page Publishing, Ramon “Monsho” Hernandez’s new book, Isla de la Esperanza, follows the fascinating life of a man who survives the toils of a faraway with courage, ingenuity, and hope, along with a realization that brings wonder to his heart.

Miguel Angel Elizarrarás Cervantes’s New Book Tocando Estrellas Con Los Dedos, Is A Well-Conceived Compendium Of Poems That Inspires A Revival Of Romanticism Within The Self

0
Page_Publishing_Miguel_Angel_Elizarrar_s_Cervantes

CHICAGO, Jan. 6, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — The book Tocando estrellas con los dedos was created by Miguel Angel Elizarrarás Cervantes. Miguel is an author who is of Mexican descent and currently resides in the Chicago area of the United States.

Miguel said this about his book: “Love, loneliness, melancholy, happiness, also of life and death, are just some of the feelings that are intertwined in this collection of poems, which today are not only part of this book but also part of the life and transition that the author lived as a human being, as a lover, and as a man who today becomes a simple editor of his own feelings and events that he had to go through and that surely we have ever passed in our lives.

In Touching Stars with Your Fingers, we will find not only a beautiful poem that makes us sigh, a phrase that we can dedicate, or a story that may make us reflect; but we will also find a reunion with the lost tranquility, which this world has taken from us under the popular hustle and hard work that happens to every person every day and at the same time deprives us of giving us some peace, which we lack so much today since stress, work, and the daily routine has not allowed us to let ourselves be carried away by the softness of a romantic reading or to allow us to conquer the loved one again with poetry and romanticism. With the tenderness and passion of a verse, we go back again in the taste of what yesteryear of the old—as in those yesterdays the great poets glimpsed in their poems which we were so fond of being carried away by the caress of their poems and the narration of their experiences.”

Published by Page Publishing, Miguel Angel Elizarrarás Cervantes’s new book Tocando estrellas con los dedos will uplift the hearts of readers through its blend of touching poems that evoke love and romance.

Consumers who wish to feel the beauty of loving and being loved ingrained within poetic verses can purchase Tocando estrellas con los dedos in any bookstore, or online at Apple iTunes, Amazon.com, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

Daniel Madariaga Barrilado Makes Donation to SOS Children’s Village in Mexico City

0

MEXICO CITY, Jan. 5, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Mexican entrepreneur Daniel Madariaga Barrilado has made a sizeable donation to SOS Children’s Village in Mexico City in recognition of UNESCO’s International Day of Education.

SOS Children’s Village is a charitable organization that works globally to protect and care for children who have lost their families. Founded in 1949, the organization works with national governments, donors and communities to create safe homes and offer opportunities to the world’s most disadvantaged children. SOS Children’s Village also works with the United Nations to assure the future of children in such initiatives as the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

In México, SOS Children’s Villages have worked for decades in Mexico City, Tijuana, Morelia, Comitán and Tuxtla Gutiérrez, helping thousands of children each year. In Mexico City, the organization has been working for almost fifty years to offer children education, security and care. At the end of 2019, SOS Children’s Villages in Mexico were serving 1,700 children and adolescents.

January is the month in which the world celebrates the International Day of Education. The day, proclaimed by the United Nations, was celebrated for the first time on January 24th, 2019. UNESCO, the UN committee dedicated to the preservation of natural and cultural resources, asserts that education is a fundamental right of children everywhere.

The celebration of the International Day of Education this year, according to UNESCO, recognizes that education, and the potential that it develops in children and adolescents, is one of the most important renewable resources known to humanity.

SOS Children’s Villages work to assure that orphans have the educational opportunities that every young person deserves. One of the principal goals of the SOS Children’s Villages is to better the lives of children by offering them a high-quality education so that they may have the best opportunities in work and life, preparing them for independence.

The entrepreneur and specialist in green development, Daniel Madariaga Barrilado is equally interested in children’s education. As his work focusses on the future of Mexico, he has made this donation to help form the next generation of workers in the technology and construction sectors.
