Joel-Romero-P-rez

HOUSTON, Aug. 21, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — The book El Misterio del Monstruo Disfrazado de Niño was created by Joel Romero Pérez. Joel is an author from Garita Palmera, El Salvador, Central America, and resides in Houston, TX. Joel has an educational background at a Pentecostal Seminar of Monotheistic Belief in Houston, Texas.

Joel has this to say about his book: “The book is a story where the Creator, God, is exalted with his maximum creations: mankind, and a beast that roams the seas on this planet. In this story, God shows his greatness through the skill of this servant beast. This is a symbolic beast can be compared to that of a water-heating system for the well-being of the human.

The beast is called Leviathan. Many know this beast as being called “El Niño”, but its real name Leviathan, and his skills are not limited to well-known weather phenomena like hurricanes, tornadoes, forest fires, and more. One of the main points of this book is to make humans to stride towards a higher level of caring for the environment within local and global levels. This being the right thing to do as stewards of the planet Earth. We already know our current state of chaos with total global climate disorder. Through this chaos, is where this beast contains the possibility of destroying humanity as we know it. We must not let our guard down, which means we must work towards the purpose of caring for nature by polluting less, planting more plants, and being more conscious of how we can sustainably live.”

Published by Page Publishing, Joel Romero Pérez’s new book El Misterio del Monstruo Disfrazado de Niño will educate readers on the genuine nature of El Niño, its ties to the divine realm, and its overwhelming power to decimate the world through human corruption.

Consumers who wish to learn the truth behind pollution and its ruinous implications can purchase El Misterio del Monstruo Disfrazado de Niño in any bookstore, or online at Apple iTunes, Amazon.com, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

NIH Study Suggests Opioid Use Linked to Pregnancy Loss, Lower Chance of Conception

0

BETHESDA, Md., Aug. 20, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Opioid use among women trying to conceive may be associated with a lower chance of pregnancy, suggests a National Institutes of Health study. Moreover, opioid use in early pregnancy may be associated with a greater chance of pregnancy loss. The study appears in Epidemiology.

“Our findings indicate that women who are pregnant or planning a pregnancy should, along with their physicians, consider the potential effects opioids may have on their ability to conceive or sustain a pregnancy,” said Kerry Flannagan, Ph.D., the primary author of the study and a postdoctoral researcher in the Division of Intramural Population Health Research at NIH’s Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.

According to the authors, much of the research on prescription opioid use has focused on the effects of drug dependency. Little information exists on non-habitual, periodic opioid use around the time of conception and early in pregnancy.

The researchers analyzed data from the Effects of Aspirin in Gestation and Reproduction (EAGeR) trial, which investigated low-dose aspirin as a treatment to prevent pregnancy loss. Participants were women from 18 to 40 years old with a history of one or two pregnancy losses. Women were followed for six monthly cycles if they did not get pregnant and throughout pregnancy if they did. The women provided urine samples, which were analyzed for various prescription opioids.

Of the 1,228 women in the study, 226 (18%) had used opioids while trying to conceive and 33 (5%) of 685 women who became pregnant had used opioids in early pregnancy. None tested positive for methadone or buprenorphine, typically used to treat opioid dependence.

Opioid use before conception was associated with a 29% lower chance of achieving pregnancy during a given monthly cycle, compared to women who had not used opioids. Among the women who became pregnant, those who used opioids around the time of conception were 1.5 times as likely to have a miscarriage as women who had not. Women who used opioids in the first four weeks of pregnancy were more than twice as likely to have a miscarriage. Women who used opioids in weeks four through eight of pregnancy were 2.5 times as likely to have a miscarriage.

The authors called for additional research on how opioid use affects fertility and early pregnancy. They added that until more is known, patients and physicians should evaluate the potential risks and benefits of opioids for pain management among women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, including those undergoing assisted reproduction procedures that may involve opioid treatment to manage pain.

Dating App Chispa and Voto Latino Partner To Ignite And Unite Latinxs And Promote Voter Registration

WASHINGTON, Aug. 20, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Chispa, the #1 dating app made for US Latinx millennial singles with over 3 million downloads, has teamed up with Voto Latino, the grassroots political organization focused on educating and empowering a new generation of Latinx voters, to help ignite and unite their community to register to vote, choose their candidate, and make their voice heard.

Dating App Chispa and Voto Latino Partner To Ignite And Unite Latinxs And Promote Voter Registration

The 2020 election is set-up to be a breakout year for Latinxs as they make up the largest minority group of eligible voters. Census Bureau survey data found that Latinx turnout in the previous election wasn’t that different from prior years, but Latinx turnout in the 2018 midterms was 40.4%, a 50% increase over the 2014 midterms. The combination of Latinx voters making up a larger share of the electorate and turning out in higher numbers could have a huge impact in 2020, especially in the many states where the Latinx population is rising. With less than 75 days until Election Day, Chispa and Voto Latino are collaborating to make sure the community is heard and to help connect based on important issues, educate, and fire up Latinx millennials on Chispa to register to vote and turn out on November 3, 2020.

Inspired by Chispa’s brand promise of creating unity through culture, and aligned with the mission of igniting meaningful connections, through this partnership, Chispa and Voto Latino’s extensive resources will help mobilize eligible Latinos to register and vote. Additionally, Chispa users will be able to swipe right and connect based on like-minded issues and topics that are at the core of the upcoming election.

“This will be the first election in which millennials and Gen Zers outnumber Baby Boomers in the electorate,” said María Teresa Kumar, president and CEO of Voto Latino. “Chispa’s audience is our audience and with their help, our outreach to and activation of young Latinx voters will be that much more impactful. We’re thrilled to partner with Chispa because we must all work together to inform and excite Americans to vote in November.”

“We are very excited to kick off our partnership with Voto Latino, as we know that our audiences are very similar and passionate about making a difference in this election cycle. By providing voter registration and turnout resources, and allowing our users to connect based on issues on the ballot, we hope to foster meaningful conversations and ultimately, strong connections amongst US Latinx singles,” said Julia Estacolchic, Head of Chispa Marketing.

In addition to the partnership, Chispa recently conducted a survey to gauge top issues amongst single Latinxs this election cycle. Key takeaways were as follows:

  • 61% of single Latinx Chispa users are registered to vote, over-indexing the total number of US Latinxs registered to vote at 53.7%
  • Single Latinx Chispa users are more open-minded when it comes to political affiliation though very passionate about certain issues (it is important for them to connect with people who are passionate about like-minded issues over just political party)
    • 63% of Chispa users do not think political affiliation is an important factor when picking a long-term partner; only 12% consider differing political affiliation a deal-breaker.
    • 25% think political affiliation is a conversation starter.
    • Top issues on the ballot this election amongst Chispa members include: immigration, jobs and the economy, and racial and gender equality.

With these insights in mind and to help drive the campaign, Chispa will activate their users in-app by providing tools to take action through culturally relevant curated content through the following beginning early September:

  • Co-branded Voto Latino and Chispa voter registration page
  • Voter registration resources
  • In-app profile badges to spark conversation about key issues while connecting with a potential match

Chispa is the largest dating app made for US Latinos, with over 3 million downloads and the goal of helping Latinos create new connections with singles from similar backgrounds, cultures, and communities. Chispa is a Match Affinity dating app created in 2017 by Match Group (NASDAQ: MTCH), a leading provider of dating products designed to increase users’ likelihood of finding a meaningful connection, like Tinder, Match, Hinge, OkCupid, and more. The Chispa app is available on the iOS App Store and Google Play, both in English and Spanish. Voto Latino is a grassroots political organization focused on educating and empowering a new generation of Latinx voters, as well as creating a more robust and inclusive democracy. WOONSOCKET, Rhode Island, Aug. 20, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — In an ongoing effort to help slow the spread of the virus, CVS Health (NYSE: CVS) today expanded its COVID-19 testing program by deploying 77 additional test sites at select CVS Pharmacy drive-thru locations across Florida. The opening of these new test sites on Friday, August 21 add to the 221 locations previously opened in Florida.

The 77 additional test sites opening across the state this week are among the more than 1,900 locations CVS Health has opened since May and expand the company’s overall testing capacity.

In addition to increasing the number of drive-thru sites, CVS Health has expanded its network of independent third-party lab partners in an effort to help improve turnaround time for the delivery of test results. Given the steps CVS Health has taken, the majority of test results across the country will generally be available within 2-5 days.

“Our national scale and local community presence enable us to uniquely expand people’s access to safe and effective COVID-19 testing options and respond to a need for increased testing capacity,” said Emmanuel Kolady, Senior Vice President, CVS Health. “We remain grateful to our frontline colleagues who make these testing sites possible and whose dedication has allowed us to keep our stores and MinuteClinics open for customers seeking supplies and patients who need care.”

Self-swab tests are no cost to patients and will be available to individuals meeting CDC criteria, in addition to state and age guidelines.1 Patients must register in advance at CVS.com to schedule an appointment. Patients will be required to stay in their cars and will be directed to the pharmacy drive-thru window or a location in the parking lot at a few stores, where they will be provided with a test kit and given instructions, and a CVS Pharmacy team member will observe the self-swab process to ensure it is done properly.

Testing will not take place inside any retail locations, and CVS Pharmacy, HealthHUB and MinuteClinic will continue to serve customers and patients.
