NEW YORK, March 3, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Following an exclusive pre-drop of four dresses, H&M is delighted to announce that its collaboration with the Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz will launch in full in March 2020. The 19-piece collection – which spans feminine dresses, tops, skirts and swimwear – features the exotic color palette, tropical florals and dramatic silhouettes that have become synonymous with Ortiz’s statement-making label. The main collection will launch in select H&M stores and online at hm.com on March 12.

The collaboration is a true meeting of minds: the H&M design team travelled to Ortiz’s native Cali – also known as Colombia’s Salsa capital – to fully comprehend the complex construction behind the designer’s ultra-flattering designs. Hosted by Johanna in her elegantly decorated home, the team was immersed in Ortiz’s sophisticated bohemian world, examining her archive to revisit her signature tropical prints in re-energised colorways.

Key pieces include the vibrant red floral maxi dress, the magenta midi dress in broderie anglaise, the black patterned floor-length column dress in viscose crepe – one of Ortiz’s personal favorites – and the ruffled wrap skirt in black and white cotton-poplin. Extravagant ruffles are an important design feature, even appearing on asymmetric swimsuits. There are also some more pared-back styles including a cotton-poplin tunic shirt and monochromatic blouses are palette-cleansing in their simplicity.

“The imprint of Colombia – the rhythm of the Salsa dance, the beauty of the elegant orchids and the effortless palm trees dancing in a balmy pink sunset – can be felt in every Johanna Ortiz design. I’m thrilled to be able to infuse this H&M collection with effortless glamour and introduce some Latin American festivity to the H&M customer’s wardrobe. I hope customers wear the pieces barefoot and with a beautiful flower in their hair,” says Johanna Ortiz, designer and CEO.

Johanna Ortiz has a gift for creating confident, colorful designs that make you want to dance. This collection is both a celebration of Colombia’s creative history and craftsmanship and an opportunity to bring Johanna’s signature feminine styles to our customers. The reaction to the pre-drop was very positive, and now the wait is over, we can’t wait to see how our customers will style this exciting collection,” says Maria Östblom, Head of womenswear design at H&M.

The team behind the winning project will be awarded $10,000 cash in prize money. DREAM (Dominican Republic Education and Mentoring Project), was founded in 1995 by our Chairman, Michel Zaleski, who after seeing schools without adequate sanitation, electricity, books and supplies, decided to try to improve Latin America’s worst performing education system. In 2002 DREAM was formalized as a USA and DR non-profit. The DREAM Board of Directors is composed of dedicated Dominicans, Americans and global citizens, including acclaimed author and Pulitzer Prize winner Junot Diaz, Adriano Espaillat, the first Dominican born US Congressman, and includes actors, business people, educators and others leading the charge to bring high quality education to the children of the Dominican Republic. These programs include new parent education, pre-schools, after-school and at-risk youth programs, summer schools and camps, vocational training for teens and young adults, libraries and computer labs. At DREAM’s annual book fairs, students build their own libraries by choosing among 25,000 age-appropriate, new, free books. NIH-funded research team updates online tool for extremely preterm infant outcomes

0

BETHESDA, Maryland, March 2, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — A research team funded by the National Institutes of Health has updated an online tool to provide information for clinicians and parents on outcomes for extremely preterm infants. The key change in the update was the incorporation of data from the hospital where the infant was born, which the researchers found was as important as gestational age in determining infant outcome. The original web-based outcome tool was developed in 2008 by the Neonatal Research Network, a group of clinical sites supported by NIH’s Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD).

The revised tool, developed using data from the Neonatal Research Network and later validated using data from hospitals in the Vermont Oxford Network (VON), is based on outcomes for extremely preterm births in the United States. The tool is available only in English. The researchers also used VON data to describe differences in survival across U.S. hospitals. The researchers describe the basis for the revision in an article appearing in JAMA Pediatrics.

The extremely preterm infants in this study were born from weeks 22 through 25 of pregnancy; a full-term pregnancy is 40 weeks. Many of these infants die soon after birth, despite receiving the best treatment available. Although some survive and reach adulthood largely unaffected, others will experience disability, ranging from correctable hearing loss to profound physical or intellectual impairment. Physicians and family members often must choose between aggressive treatment to save an infant’s life or comfort care, which meets the infant’s basic needs but forgoes painful medical procedures unlikely to benefit the infant.

Like its predecessor, the new tool provides information on infant survival and neurological impairment on the basis of five factors: gestational age (the week of pregnancy the infant was born), whether the baby is male or female, birth weight, whether the baby was a single baby or from a multiple pregnancy, and whether the baby’s mother was given antenatal steroids during labor to accelerate the baby’s maturation and overall development. Hospital-specific estimates of survival for each participating hospital in VON are now available to that hospital through the VON website.

The developers of the tool stress that while it provides information useful for families and clinicians considering treatment options, it cannot substitute for a physician’s careful assessment or predict with certainty the outcome for any infant.

The iconic Egg McMuffin was first created in early 1971 by Herb Peterson, an owner and operator in Santa Barbara, California. What started as an attempt to make Eggs Benedict became a breakfast icon: the Egg McMuffin. Herb is also credited with creating the Teflon rings to give the eggs their perfectly rounded shape—a tool that has inspired other brands around the world.

The Egg McMuffin is an excellent source of protein and oh so delicious. We place a freshly cracked Grade A egg on a toasted English Muffin topped with real butter and add lean Canadian bacon and melty American cheese.

McDonald’s has been a leader at breakfast for nearly 50 years. From introducing Breakfast Burritos (1991) and McGriddles (2003) to letting there be All Day Breakfast (2015) and debuting our current 2 for $4 Mix and Match Value Deal, customers have what they love at the speed and convenience they trust and expect from us.

TL; DR: McDonald’s changed the breakfast game forever in 1971 with the introduction of the Egg McMuffin®—the FIRST ever quick service restaurant breakfast sandwich. Now, nearly 50 years after its debut, this fan favorite is getting the celebration it deserves: its very own national holiday. That’s right, Monday, March 2nd is National Egg McMuffin Day. The year-round campaign includes a partnership with global superstar singer, songwriter, author and entrepreneur Thalia, centered around a “Cooking Healthy with Thalia” challenge to promote the positive impact avocados have as part of a healthy diet. AFM additionally launched an interactive digital partnership with MyFitnessPal to drive home the message that avocados are “Always Worth It.”

“I am so excited to partner with Avocados From Mexico for ‘Cooking Healthy with Thalia,” said Thalia. “Exercising and eating healthy have always been important to me and avocados are one of my all-time favorite fruits. I can’t wait to share these delicious recipes with my fans.”

Engaging with the MyFitnessPal Community
Avocados From Mexico targeted the MyFitnessPal health and fitness community during October, September and January 2020, and encouraged avocado lovers to eat more avocados and pursue healthier lifestyles. The platform challenged users to log 30 or more avocados on MyFitnessPal.com within the campaign period, with opportunities for participants to win prizes.

“The partnership with MyFitnessPal was a no-brainer,” says Ivonne Kinser. “Avocados are already wildly popular on the platform as the second most-logged item in 2018, and we saw an important increase in avocado logs since beginning our work with them, resulting in more than 562K participants and over 195,684 avocados logged on the platform.
